without hearing it & if not valve clearance or valve train issue could be chain or possible piston or rod but sounds like you got the sound narrowed down to the head.

Ya me and one of my friends have it narrowed down to the head we either think it is the valves being to tight and hitting or too loose and hitting the top of the piston

its definetely your valves or timing chain. if it were too tight the valves would be opening too far and clipping the top of the piston and you would have a top end failure very very fast due to a bent valve. if its too loose, which it sounds to be, the valves would not open far enough and your performance would go down. the sound you are hearing is the shim buckets coming off the top of the valves/springs and jumping around. check your valves asap before something big happens. if it were the timing chain, the slop in the chain would be hitting the side of the cylinder which could cause it to skip a tooth, changing your timing and causing top end failure. either way, check your valve clearances and your timing chain. does your engine smoke at all? your valve guides/seals could also be worn out allowing the valve to have lateral play which would wear the stems very fast. good luck and if you need more help just ask - Matt

Hey matt it is not burning any oil but i have checked the valve clearances 2 time and each time they have been in spec. And the seals were just replace over the winter and the guides are good. thanks matt
