I was going to post in Jet, but it wouldn't let me. Just kinda curious what everyone is running for race sag. Hearing some differences on opinion and even some saying that race sag is a motorcycle thing and not for atvs. Just curious....

Not sure why it wouldn't let you, that doesn't sound good.

Race sag is a tool and is a good reference number to tell if spring rate, preload and shock length are in the ball park and we can wind up at our desired ride height. Make sure you measure by pulling all the way up with rear tires off the ground then standing on the pegs. Honda 450 we are looking at a range of 4.5" ~ 5 1/4" and we want to achieve this with no more than 4 turns of preload on the rear spring. If you have to crank in more preload than that, spring too soft or shock too short. If you screw more turns than that, the initial movement is harsh since you have no preloaded a spring 1/4" and for easy math, if it is a 400 lb spring, you have 100lbs already in it.

Well, got curious cause I bought a spare bike with a gt revalve with piston set up for someone a little heavier than me. Race sag was like 5 1/2". It rides good, and set at 4 clicks of compression it rarely ever bottoms out. I ride A class and was not taking it easy on it. I may check it again and see if I have a heavier spring just to see if I like it better. What rate are do you recommend for an 04 with 06 up swingarm and link for about a 195# rider?

Thanks

450lb ~ 460 with 1 turn preload w/ my valving, not sure about GT valving but probably with his valving 425 ~440
