so does anyone torgue the springs bolts on the clutch pressure plate? i know there is no torque rating in the manual but i also have a 400 ex and snapped one of the bolts off in the inner hub.. it was even really tight but i thought if there was a torque number then that would keep it from happening again... anyone with any input would be great.

Actually the service manual states to torque clutch spring bolts to 9 ft/lbs. thumbsup.gif

Oh boy, I'm sorry about that. 9 ft/lbs is 450r. 400ex service manual doesn't say anything other than to tighten them down. My opinion (not that it really matters) is that since they are both the 450r and 400ex use 6mm clutch spring bolts (450r is 6x25 400ex is 6x28) that the torque spec should be the same.

6mm grade 12.9 = 9ft/lbs
6mm grade 10.9 = 10ft/lbs
6mm grade 8.8 = 5ft/lbs

These values require lubrication of the threads.
