just took a trail riding trip out to busco beach this past weekend and after i got everything cleaned up i noticed that my parking brake no longer works? the bolt that actually holds the whole clutch assembly on to the handlebars is loose so I'm thinking that is the problem. Also what's the best way to clean the front brakes to make sure I got all the mud out so it doesn't ruin the rotor.

Thanks Mike

The parking brake assembly on all the 450's suck. They require adjustment constantly and work loose quickly. I would turn the screw inward about 90% on the lever, then adjust the rear by loosening the nut then slowly tighten the small bolt inward till it doesn't roll where the pad makes contact the holding the bolt still, tighten the nut. This way you have some adjustment on the bar as it starts to loosen. I adjust mine about with every oil change. The front brakes can be cleaned out with water and if necessary, use brake cleaner on the rotors and pads. No need to disassemble and clean.
