Sounds like a good time! Unfortunately, not enough lead time for me to get everything in order, save up some bank, etc. Our group that went to Little Sahara, Utah and St. Anthony, Idaho last summer are also in the early planning stages of hitting Glamis next year, although it will be later in the year, roughly early November 2010.
Just as an FYI, good luck trying to garner interest for a big trip like this on a forum. Although you might get quite a bit of feedback from people truely interested in embarking on an adventure like this, things just have a way of "coming up" and people drop out as you get closer to the departure date. Not trying to bash anyone or anything, as I realize things happen. All I'm saying Dozer, is basically don't count anyone in or go out of your way (financially) trying to accomodate anyone unless you get a deposit of some sort to cover yourself. I'm sure you probably realize this after having already done these trips 3 times, but just thought I'd throw that out there.
What do you guys do anyways? Have your quads trucked out there and you fly out? Or do you just follow the shipping truck out in a car? Just curious, as we're trying to decide whether to ship ours out there, or just use my truck and enclosed trailer and take them ourselves like we did last summer. Send me a pm with your phone # and best time to call if possible. I'd be interested in knowing how you've done this in the past. Thanks
Some of the other things we research are other riding areas and/or attractions along our route. From what it looks like by leaving from central Indiana, the mapquest route to Glamis shows travelling within about 50 miles or so of the Little Sahara, Oklahoma dunes. So we will probably plan on stopping by there for 1 day at least. Also, we're planning on following the old Route 66 for at least part of the trip, which should be pretty cool for some of us "old school" hot rodders!
Anyways, sorry for rambling and not exactly adding much to your thread topic, lol. Have fun, and let us know some of the details when you get back which might help me out later in the year!!
