Hey people...new to the forum here. Anyway, I haven't ridden my 450r in the winter yet and I'm looking into getting some rims/tires. I want to save some time from tinkering around, so here it is... I'm looking to go as big as I can without having tire clearance issues so I can maybe get it up off the ground a bit more. Also, what are you guys suggesting these days for a good winter tire? I'm not worried about big tires holding the bike back or handling problems, etc etc.. I just want the bike as mobile in the snow as it can be.

the biggest tires i have seen on the rear of a quad is 22 inch. Ams makes a tire called the zipper, which it claims works well in snow. also maxxis makes a tire called the 4-snow and as the name says, its suppose to be good in snow. As for the front the biggest i have seen is 23, but im sure you could get 24 or 25 inch fronts. I dont really know what to suggest for fronts, anything thats really wide so keep up on top of the snow i guess.
I hope this helps.

Hey, thanks a lot... yeah, I was actually looking at the Maxxis tire and heard nothing but good things. I think I'm gonna go with the Zipper though now since it's basically the same only I can get it a bit cheaper. Plus it seems to have a little more thread on the edges of the tire with them little "knobs"
