I want to upgrade my head light, but I was wondering if just getting new xenon bulbs or something like that is going to make it brighter? I assume it would, but is it much brighter? I really don;t want to spend $300 on a HID kit and am really wary of the $65 Ebay kits, so i was thinking about just putting in some new xenon bulbs and calling it good. What say the minds here?

How much night riding do you actually do? If you only occasionally ride at night then the piaa xtreme whites are a nice upgrade and definitely better than stock but if your doing a ton of night riding then you can't beat the hid kits. Just don't get the high output bulbs or you'll melt stuff including your wiring.

I don't do a whole lot of night riding, usually on a 3 day trip to Glamis I will ride out the Olds at night once, maybe twice at the most. So, not a lot, which is why I don't want to spend $300 for an entire HID kit, I was thinking less than $100 would be ideal.
So you think that spending $25-35 each on 2 lights would be worth it? Would it make that big a difference? That's a lot of money to spend for 2 light bulbs and if they aren't going to make much difference, I'm out. I asked a guy at a local moto store and he said they could order an HID kit for $80-100. Any idea what he is talking about? Why are the ones I have seen online (simple racing) nearly $300? Is there a small HID upgrade and then a full kit or something like that?

this might be old but have you thought about getting a 4 inch HID light like they sell at kragen?? and have it on like a quick release system? im planning to do that to mine as i cant see jack crap at night with my stock lights. plus the lights are about 100 bux and pretty reliable and simple to wire up.
