The Boyesen Quick shot

Well i installed the Quick Shot today along with a 48 Pilot jet, in my 04 FCR 40mm CRF Carb. I'll start off by saying read the instructions first, me being the "I can do anything, I don't need no damn instructions" type of guy, i did not. I tore my bike down to get the Carb off, took off the old cover very gingerly and thought i was paying attention. Then i reinstalled the new cover (Quick Shot) and put everything back tougher. I checked for leaks, then fired her up, once the bike was running i found a leak around the cap. mad2.gif I was pissed, thought WTF?? I tore everything back down to see what was up with it, yet i could not find anything wrong. Around this time "Beer thirty" tongue.gif i got a beverage and set down to inspect it a little more, then the light bulb came on "hey dumb @$$ go read the instructions" 11doh1.gif i went in side got the instructions out and read. Well to make a long story a little shorter, somewhere down the line i forgot to install the old "D ring" o-ring from the old cover to the new, the reason i did not install it, was because i never seen it. It must have fallen out as soon as i took the over off.

Now everything is good, no leaks, no more bog, and no more whiplash. This product is awesome, i give it a 9 on a scale of 10. It would give it a 10, but i can't see how this little quarter sized piece can cost so much ($80.00). I never tried the "Leak jet" fix, so i can not say if this is as good or better then it. I have always been a fan of Boyesen products, and this piece lives up to my expectation. :)

Does anybody know whether the Quickshot will be of any help to the stock carb? My R rips in the upper RPMs but I don't like the sluggishness of it down low. It feels really boggy!

If I can't get mine jetted correctly I'll check this out.

this is not supposed to go on the stock carb. it fits the fcr carbs.
MudGopher

will it make me look syupid if i ask what exactly this thing does?lol
cals400ex
it is supposed to help out with throttle response. it is a modification that helps a bog you might get with the fcr carb.

THANKS FOR THE INPUT, I GOT MINE ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO JUST WAITING
TO GET MY FULL EXHAUST IN BEFORE I PUT IT ON. DID YOU HAVE AN AFTERMARKET EXHAUST TOO? DID YOU PUT YOUR QUICK SHOT ON AFTER
YOUR EXHAUST? IF SO, WHAT JETS DID YOU USE? I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY JET KIT, DONT KNOW WHAT IS HOLDING IT UP. DID YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR PILOT OR WAS YOU JUST TRING TO HELP THE BOGG A LITTLE BIT? I ALREADY HEARD ABOUT THE O-RING BUT NICE OF YOU TO LET EVERYONE KNOW! GREAT JOB MAN
