I just picked up a lightly used 07 450er for really cheap! it is bassically stock motor besides a full curtis sparks exhause with jet kit and filter. and i think the airbox lid is removed as well. bike has no more than 20hrs. i bought it from a guy that was getting all new quads and decided to get a boat instead. since im coming from a mild 250r taht i used in glamis to this waht can i expect? also i wanted to get some new paddles. i have edges on my 250r in 20x10x10 8 blades. my cuzins on there 450s run 20x11x9 7 paddle extremes. i was recommended by fullerton sand sports to get a 21x12x8 6 paddle hauler. be it extreme or regulaur. waht would you guys reccomend? i dune more then drag but when i drag i want to get up quick because with my edges on my 250 i would just dig monster trenches and roost everywhere but hey turned on a dime which is waht i liked. i dont mind having to use a little more body english to turn just as long as i dont have to hang off the side of my bike to turn lol.
But here is some info
wieght-250 and dropping
were i ride-glamis and maybe a trip to florence this christmas
has full sparks pipe and jet kit
stock gearing

waht is roll out also? is it important for me? andi wanted to get a bead to bead buff because i think it will look cleaner. is that a good idea or bad? thansk! i plan to put a cam later on down the road but not this season. ill get pics of my bike up soon its soo clean for what i payed for it.

I would go with the 21x12x8 but I don't know about paddle count because our dunes are way different but from what I've read a 6 or 7 paddle sounds about right. Get the bead to bead buff for sure.

thanks man! when you put your curtis sparks exhaust on your bike did you notice a real big diffrence in power?
jkulysses
I did the exhaust, intake and cam at the same time so I'm not sure what just the exhaust did by itself but doing all that stuff at the same time was a world of difference. Had to get used to it all over again like a new bike lol.

alright cool.what width rim should i use for the 21x12x8? like 6?

im going to get the cam later not now.with the dasa intake what was being replaced the whole box like the FCI one? or is it more like a proflow kit?

and i have the external fuel screw on my carb waht does that control? i turned mine to the lean side because there was some hesitation to were if i gave it gas quick enough (from idle to 3/4) and back down to rev it, it would stutter and if i repeated it enough(3 times usually) the bike would stall until i messed wit that screw and then it got way crisper and reved out better then before. i returned it back to were it was so i wont mess things up.
