ok im thinking of buying a 86 trx250r for 2400. its 40 over, lrd full, jet kit, full suspention, good bearings boyseen reeds.
should i woorie about the 40 over blowing alot? i can replace a topend every year but not constently. if 40 owver can last me 1 season i will be happy! thxs for the help. oo and with this quad will it be as fast as a 660r or banshee?

porting is key.....if taken care of and maintained it should last a while

just because its 40 over doesnt mean its going to blow up faster. I have to disagree because JETTING is key imo. It should easily last this long as long as its not 240 comp and full race fuel with a 8mm stroker crank. stock the 250r is pretty reliable.

ya agreed...jetting is key.. these dont have a oil system like 4 strokes.. oil is mixed in with the gas, im sure you know that but just saying that that means the jetting has to be on or if its lean then the motor is running with lube.. and lube is good haha

.40 is nothing you can bore them .120 over im pretty sure. i had mine bored to .90 over witch is 265 witch is what most atv racer did with out big bore kit lol. so yea .40 is nothing you have pletty of bores left and a no cly is not to much money to buy. god danm i miss my 250r ill trade my 450r for one for a heart beat.
