Has any here tired it in the 450R? I was going to use 10 40 motorcycle oil in the motor and Gear saver in the tranny that was for wet clutches

ghott and i run amsoil all the time. When his bike was torn down to replace the head, he was told that it looked like a new motor inside.

nice thing about the Honda you can run a great synthetic motor oil Amsoil Royal Purple Mobil 1 in the motor without worry of clutch issues. You can run Royal purple or RTL-2 two stroke trans oil in the trans & get the best protection possible to both.
The synthetic base stock for motor oils is pretty much the same it is the chemical package that separates the synthetics I was told.

I run amsoil 0W50 synthetic in the top end and Motul non synthetic in the clutch. After the tear down last year, it's like brand new inside.
Amsoil is great oil...I would say the three top oils in order would be Motul 300v 4T,Silkolene pro4sx,and Amsoil mcf...Alot will claim otherwise but only because these oils are expensive...You do get what you pay for...

thumper 20w-50 synthetic blend in the engine and gear saver 80w in the tranny
amsoil 0 w 50 in both and shes like a rock!
