If checked everything there is to check and recheck on my rear brakes but they still suck. They have been bled 3 times and no more air bubbles, they have been checked everywhere for leaks and have found none. I have measured the rotor and its well within spec, the pads are good and the caliper is like new from an 08. Has anyone had the master cylinder give them problems. I ordered one overnight to the tune of 58 bucks and i have a ride on friday at Treverton or Breezewood. I can install it tomorrow but im worried that it will not fix the problem. It will provide some braking but it is not the way it should be. The pedal travels further than i think it should but its like the pads dont grab. HAs anyone had a master cylinder problem do this?

did you bleed it with a vaccum pump?

adj your brake pedal travel to push the piston harder.

If your running the stock brakeline it might have gotten soft over the last few years< have you adjusted the rear brake pedal where it meets at the master cylinder connecting arm?

It has been bled with a vacuum and it has stainless lines. I have gone through a complete bottle of honda brake fluid on the rear so it has all new fluid and still no better. It is to the point where it will gravity drain fairly quikly and nothing but fluid. I had a little bit of fluid on the rubber boot on the master when i was assembling the quad which usually means its getting past the seals but i have not seen a single drop since. Im going to rebuild it tommorrow and see if that helps.

its probably the pedal travel like stated before, the stamped steel clevis gets a ton of play, push ur pedal down with your hand and see how much play is in it before it pushes on the master cylinder. i had the same problem earlier and i was checking everything and then realized that is just wasnt pushing the master cylinder enough because of all the play

I rebuilt the master cylinder and it was slightly better but will loose pressure over the course of the day. After about 5 hours i loose brakes completely again. I have a leak somewhere but cannot locate it. I have just been replacing all the seals and i think it may be the bleeder screw. It wont be here until today or tommorrow so ill let you know. Its a crazy strange occurance but i think its the problem. The screws tip was messed up a little bit and may have been seeping just a little. Its all i have left to replace so ill try it.

The bleed screw was the problem. I dont know what the heck was i there but it is different than the one o ordered from honda. The hole in the screw is in a different location and its a 10mm head while the one i had in there was an 8mm. Either way it fits and i now have brakes and it has held for a week now.
