we just sold a 66 sideoiler with tunnel port heads, all matching number'd longblock for 7500. we still have a all,oem highpo 289 setting in the shop. i myself perfer bigblock chevys''the parts r easy to get,and you can make big hp numbers for half the price...plus, when i have the hood up on my 69camaro at the carshows, they might beat me up if they saw a ford motor stuft in it''' lol i like them both, ford and chevy....

you've got a lot of stuff you can still remove if its a drag bike...

front brakes and controls, fan, lights, trim the rear plastic, cut down the wire harness, ditch the front slip on mount, etc.

As well as ditch the stock axle and grab an after market one. The stock axles are pretty heavy, durable, but heavy.

swapping to some fox floats or shaws would drop another 8lbs off the front.
