Im looking at getting a new set of tires and have narrowed it down th the gncc or hd tires from ITP. I ride in trails and woods and would never be on a MX track. I have a set of HD's now and like them but someone suggested the GNCC's would be better in the woods. Anyone with experience with both sets of tires would be much appreciated.....Thanks!

I would also check out the ITP XCR's I have them on the rear and like them alot. I have had them for 2 years. They are a six ply just like gncc but not heavy like the HD's. I just got the GNCC on the front and they are AWESOME~! I can turn on a dime. The GNCC are also a six ply and also very light.
I would def. recommend the gncc for what you are doing or even the xcr rear and gncc up front. personally I like the tread pattern on the xcr rear.

For track or trails I would say the XCR or the XCT. Im not sure, still trying to decide for myself. I really want to get the GNCC for the back of mine, but I just realized they only make em for a 9inch rim and I have a ten inch rim.
The XCR and XCT appear to be the same but the XCT is a 22inch tire, not a 20inch tire like the XCR. I think The taller tire will be better for the woods and trails, plus give you/me a little bit more speed top end. I wonder how much low end power would be loss with the 22inch rear if any? Damn decision decision.
Anybody wanna chime in for me and pncstod

Well, I'm basically in the same boat as you guys. My last tire was the HD and in the loose terrain (sand and mud) which is most found here in FL, it performed awesome and lasted forever. They handled great on my LTR, but every bike is different and I here some people say the HD/Rzr2 rears grip too much on these bikes. I already have Rzr2s up front and keeping them, just looking for a good rear for loose terrain trails. I was thinking the GNCC because they are lighter than the HDs... However, I don't really want to give up traction. So keep the experiences coming.

I have 20X11X8 Holeshot XCR-03's in the rear and 21X7X10 Holeshot up front. idk how the combo works yet unless i push it around the yard but i think it will be great. im jusy scared that the little bit of road riding i do will wear down the xcr's quick since they seem to be super soft compound

The XCR's are a 6ply compound. I thought that is the tougher compound? I have had mine on the rear for three years now they have held up really well. I did a significant amount of road riding in 2009 also, more than I usually do, getting from trail system to trail system.

the 6 ply's are tougher but i think the lugs are soft. atleast compared to my friend's HD's.
