Hi. I want to change a little the looking of my R so i need to get the gas tank red, like fenders.

I went to a local store but they said me that if a cover it with a sticker it would tear down early because of the gases from the tank.

I noticed that graphic kits on the gas tank come with lots of holes in order not to tear down.

What would you do?. I don't want to get a graphic kit because i only want to change the gas tank, not the plastics too.

This is what i want to do:

buy a 08-09 gas tank,then you can change the plaastic on the tank

The 2008 model comes with a plastic cover for the gas tank, is not a coloured tank, and that cover doesn't fit 2004 year model, so i'm not sure it the tank would fit on my '04 450r.

The 08-09 gas tank cover will fit on the 04-07 gas tanks with a little bit of modification. Do a search, it's been posted before. Also, check with Clarke. I believe they are making a red oversized.

i wonder if vinal dye would work? i have used it alot on automotive gauge pods but never anything that is going to in the weather.

Vinil is what i was thinking about buy there is the problem of the gases from the tank, that will tear the vinils off.

You have to buy the complete tank and pit cock for the 08 09, look at my sig mine is on 06 with a white 08 tank

do the frame red too and it would look pretty pimp
