Hey Guys,

Just wondering if this is normal..... I have an 07 ER, noticed that there was oil taking up only half of the oil glass ( bike was totally cold and has not been started in a week.. bike was on level ground too.) I did not start it yet. I'm pretty sure this is ok, just wanted to check.

You gotta do the proper procedure when checking oil.

Start it, and let it idle 3-4 minutes or so.

Shut it off, and let it sit 3-4 minutes or so.

I'm not sure on the 07s but the 05s its just suposed to be inbetween almost the bottom and almost the top on the sight glass, so fire it up and do what quad said. I always make sure I keep mine slightly above the top of the glass for a little extra safety though.

The oil level on my 05 when cold and when doing the proper procedure seems to be the same. I have a quick look everytime I hop on it.

as you look at the window....there are marks "H" and "L" (on my 06 they are just to the left of the window). that is High and Low...anywhere in between them and you are good to go
