I am in need of some new tires, rear and front. I ride trails. What do you think would be the best tires for the price?

kenda knarlys rear and kenda klaws front.

the regular knarly rears are too low they are 19.5" tall they drag to much and the kenda klaw fronts dont turn for chit

if you want some GOOD tires for under 300 bucks get GBC x-rex's multiple times better than the klaws

but i wouldnt mind trying the new kenda kutters

the kenda sport radil fronts turn much better than the klaws the klaw fronts push way to much for me

again GBC x-rex's are the way to go

i have always liked the ohtsu radials (the stock tires that the 400ex has) they bite just right for hill climbing
reitzee450
ive got holeshot gncc's, they're great and are hoklding up real well, but i think im gonna go with hondaman01 on those GBC's...exact same thing as the rzr2's for dirt cheap
trx 450r
razer 2s
darmo21
i have holeshot XCR's on the rear, and the holeshot gncc on the front. I like each alot~!

GBC's are the same exact thing but a whole lot cheaper

i would deff go with any kind of razor or holeshot...they dont pack dirt in the tire and the bite down hard and really keep u going thru the turns as well...and they are a good solid tire ...
zooooom
Kenda knarly's are some of the best tires I've ever used in the mountain(the 21" are the best). I got the new kutters right now. They work real good but they're new. I'll now more in a couple months.

I have Holeshot H-D's front and rear and love them. There alittle heavy but there worth it. the 6 ply radial can withstand anything you throw at it
JDINER
I have a set of I-RAZR's and they hook unbelivably well, but still slide well they a are a 6-ply radial so they have plenty of side wall strength. Good all around tire.

I have the HOleshot XCR's on the rear (and front actually) for about 2 maybe 3 yrs now. Great hook up in everything and predictable sliding.

BUT one of the rears all of a sudden got a "rip" at the base of one of the knobbies, impossible to repair. After further inspection, both rear tires appear to be on the verge of ripping a hole in various spots all over the tires post-696-1105671448.gif

Very limited road wear, mostly trail riding. I know the last trip at WolfPen Gap was non-stop riding for 3 days straight, and at least half of the time was gravel but I am disappointed in ITP.

There was still alot of life left on the tires but had to switch both of them out. Just bought Kends Klaw's for the rear, putting them on this week and riding our normal trails next weekend. I will report back then and compare.

Quick evaluation...the Kenda Klaws dont grip anything like the Holeshot XCR's banghead.gif They are better than stock of course.
The slide too easy, a bit unpredicatable at times.
In the Klaws' defense, the riding conditions were a bit wet, more loose than normal. And I had them turned for hard ground.
They will work...just really miss my XCR's!! crybaby.gif

i run the 35 dollar artrax MXT-R front and rears for trail riding and i couldnt be happier. they are cheap as hell and they hook up great in mud and on hard clay. 20's in the front and 19's in the rear and i have no complaints. they dont last as long as other tires but who cares buy 3 sets for the price of one "good" set

Where did you find the $35 price tag? The cheapest I've found is Motosport.com. The MXT-Rs you have are only 2 ply, that's why they wear down quicker, I'm interested in the MXT's as they look heavier duty. Has anyone EVER used these, or know the ply rating? I can't find it anywhere. Looks like a good tread pattern for the loose/rough stuff I ride in. I'm glad you've had good luck with the MXT-Rs tho, I'm considering trying these at $47.99/tire...

I run razor2 front and rear 6 ply and alittle heavy but they take any thing I can throw at them
