You need to find out your mods.
Exhuast, air box lid on or off.

Check you jetting let us know what is in your carb and go from there.

It is very unlikely that it is electrically related, if it was, it more than likely would not run at all.

Whoever told you that the parking brake block-off is the problem should no longer be your friend, and you should probably cut off all communication with them. LOL banghead.gif

If your jetting is to rich it will give a "false rev limiter". What size jet is in it?

less maint on a 4st vs a 2 st???!!! i wish that were true. engine oil and filter to change regularly...valves to check and adjust regularly...

these things do have a rev limiter. are you sure you are not just hitting it? if you are sure you are not, and it really is a problem, start checking the same things that you would on your 2st. spark plug ok? jetting ok? when it does this, what does it feel like? does it rev up then seem to fall on its face? this could mean lean jetting. does it rev than get real choky and blubbery sounding? this could mean to rich jetting.

like stated earlier...check all mods, and jetting...post it up here

You might be to rich and giving a false rev limiter. The 4 strokes dont rev as high as your 2 strokes you are use to. Also need to check and see if your rev limiter has been removed. Need to take off your head cover and there will be a flapper gear in there you need to take off. Do a search for FLAPPER should find a how to.

pardon me, but wth are you taking about here? the rev limiter is electronic, not a physical device that can be removed. its programmed into the ignition boxes. never in all my live have i ever heard of a "flapper gear"
