I want to run the TRXS Fourwerx carbon hood on my 450R but not sure what to do about headlights. I need them... What's the most common solutions?

Note: I have the Kicker model...not the ER

Unfortunately, Fourwerx hoods will not work with the stock headlight.

You could run the Fourwerx hood and do aftermarket lights, or you could get a Lightspeed CF hood. Their hood is designed to work with the stock headlight.

thanks.

I didnt expect it to work with the stock light, I just wanted to know what aftermarket lights are commonly used on a kicker with no battery. I didnt want to start looking at lights my bike won't be able to power w/o adding a better stator.

Fourwerx DOES sell a carbon hood that works with the stock 06 headlight...

see sig pic...TrailTechs u can use 35-50w bulbs with no problem..dont go any higher..i tried some 75w and they are weak..our stock stators dont make enough power..good luck

What hood is this?

The Stealth III was supposed to work with the 06 headlight but it turned out that there was a problem and it does not work with any headlight.

Let me know if there is one that for sure works with a stock headlight, I would definitely be interested in it. . . . . .

Any1 know where I can find Black TrailTech lights? I dont want chrome...

And which mount is most commonly used to mount the lights under the hood like most people do. Need to know frame mount dimensions and do I need a vertical or horizontal mount?
FMFtrx450Rracer
TrailTech makes the kit with the mount plate for the R..they are suppost to be mounted on top and sit where the stock 04/05 headlights are but all you do is mount it upside down and its perfect..and about the black ones Ive only seen the HID ones in black or that might be Lazer Stars..not sure but you can probably find them online

You can powdercoat the trail tech lights
rinehart_mitch
I wouldnt by the trail tech lights if you ask me. My friend has them on his YFZ, other buddy has the same exact ones on his LTZ, theyre both the HID ones, they power them just fine, but are alwayshaving problems with th bulbs or the wiring, i would just keep away from hem, some people have good luck with them i know that, but the 2 i know of suck!

This would keep it under $200:

7/8" bar mounts for mounting lights to frame bars under hood area? (not sure which size bars are)

and

wonder if SCMR16's work on that mount? (pretty sure it will)

Is a 30watt HID light too much for a kicker R?

This is the setup I want to buy when I do the hood
