me and my brother were trying to replace his swingarm last night and the bolt that goes through the swing arm and the motor would not budge. the nut would come off but the bolt would not go through no matter what. am i missing a step or is this thing messed up? any help would be greatly appreciated

The bolt has probably seized to the bushings. Try letting it soak in penetrating oil, or use a bigger hammer. If that doesn't work, it's time for the saw-zall.

I had that same problem and i spent bout 4 hours trying to get it out. It is rusted in there i had to heat my swing arm up and along with the bushings and beat the hell out of it. It will take a bit for it to come out but it should come.

WD40 and put the nut on the swingarm bolt backwards. Hit the nut with a hammer. That's what I did!

Hopefuly you have brass punches or a brass bar to help from deforming the bolt and causing yourself greater greif.

Lube it up put the nut on and beat it p.gif

Some times you have to work on it for a few days before it will give it up p.gif just be patient she will eventualy come p.gif

I just had my first experience with cutting a bolt out and it was a Lonestar stainless steel one of course. This was on a 400EX. I took the rear shock off and straped the rear axle up for easier access. 4 sawzall cuts later it came and then the remaining bolt pieces pushed out real easy.
