I know there is plenty of awesome tires out there. But i really do not like the whole bigger front tire and small rear idea. What is the point? I Need to keep my rear tires big to get over rocks and protect my baby.

If i am replacing tires, should i just swap out rims too for that matter and if so, what should i be looking for. Remember i need to squeeze tight in trails and hit rock garden galore.

My rims would need to be black and i really do like the look of the outside edge coming down style.

No, they are 6-ply.

Yes, Hiper's are a great wheel. And if you bang up the Beadlock ring on a bunch of rocks, you can simply get a new set of rings and the wheels look new again.

You should keep the stock layout of smaller tires in the rear and larger in the front, or else it will adversely affect your handling.

If you want a tall tire to get you over the rocks and such, maybe look into the ITP XCT tires. the fronts come in a 23" and the rears can be had in a 22", but IIRC, they actually measure taller than that. That would give you over an extra inch of clearance under your swingarm. The XCT's are a 6 ply tire as well so they are plenty heavy duty.

Hope that helps. . . . .

oo ok ya then either or. great tires either way
RyanT
yea i dont want to mess with the stock setup, i just dont know how the stock setup is as in size. i am talking about when people have huge front tires compared to the rear. what if i went 21 and 22 in the front... does it matter?
RyanT
ok i checked up on those ITP XCT wheels and the front tires are 4 ply... is that a problem or is 4 ply fine for the fronts

I wouldn't worry to much about them being a 4-ply tire, especially when you consider the fact that stock tires are 2-ply.

I have honestly put more holes in 6-ply tires than I have in stock 2-ply tires, whether it be on a sport utility or sport quad.

For me, I get far more holes in the rear tires. I think it's from all the sliding and spinning those tires do, so I would be more concerned with the rears being a 6-ply myself, which the rear XCT's are a 6-ply.

ok that sounds good.

are 8x8 the usual quad rim or should i go bigger or what>???

Personally, I like 10 inch rear rims, I don't know why, but that is what I run.

But by far the most common size is 9 inch for the rear. Running this size makes it easier to find tires in a pinch.
