got a 05 450 guy i got it from got it off a trade he didnt know alot about the quad so i have no idea whats been done to the motor he said its been rebuilt that all he knew.. from what i know it has hmf full exhaust, elka shocks, hiper front rims, stock rear rims, with maxxis razr 2 tires i think 22 in front and 20 in rear, flex bars, kill switch n nerf bars, a arms and axle,

Question is i noticed everyone else riding had smaller tires than i did running like a 20 on front maybe and i know one guy had 18 on rear. what is the reason to run smaller tires?

What gearing should i run if i continue to run the tires i have and what gearing should i run if i decided to run smaller tires if it will help me keep up better..

I had no idea what was going on at the track or how the atv raced so i enter the amature race thought there would be no one but me and my cousin racing beginner.. i thought each one raced seperate but what they did was pro went on first drop and then the amature and beginner raced on 2nd drop.. i would have came out on top n beginner lol i came in last in amature but all in all i had a blast and i am hooked so now im trying to find out what to do to get better im gonna find somewhere to practice and wanted to know how i should set my quad up to race

deffinitly get rid of those 20's and run 18's on the rear and 20's on the front, that'll help your quad be lower so it handle's easier...

i run a 13/38 which is stock gearing for 04-05...

stock gearing is a 14-38, we run 13-37 or a 14-39 depending on the tire size and brand which affects final drive numbers
