alright, so it has been along time coming. My motor broke in march when i was riding my bike at olds hill. Cracked my left case I had always wanted to powder coat my frame, and when the motor broke i felt this was the best time to do so. Bike sat there for a couple weeks in march in the garage with the motor broken. I felt depressed and didn't even want to look at the bike. One sunday i woke up and said, "I'm taking this thing apart today." 6 hours later i was pretty much done tearing it completely down. Man that was a lot of work for a man rolling solo.

I then spoke with my friend Gerry aka Elduner about me wanting to get my frame powdered. I asked him to help me out clean some of the unnecessary tabs and stuff that i didn't need from the frame. He said sure bring her down. So thanks to Elduner and Dunepred they went to work one day and cleaned up my frame. Thanks Fellas!!!

The other thing i also wanted to do was to be able to run my crf seat that i had purchased along time ago... with my slow work and me going to school i just didn't have the funds to buy myself a crf subframe for my ride. So once again Dunepred and Elduner came through big time for me. We went to a place where they sell metal and paid a whopping $4 for material. we then made a sub frame that would work with my seat and had a nice ride height. It came out awesome IMO, at a price that i could afford, and at the same time shaved some weight off of stock.







When it came to choosing my powder color, i went through a long thought process of what i wanted to do. I thought i definitely do not want to do it blue, red, white, black, etc. I'm an old school type of guy so i decided "GOLD" it is... then i had a hard time finding a shade of gold that i liked. a shade that i knew i would want on my frame for along time. What ended up happening was that i had to order a custom color which i waited a couple weeks to receive.

Finally everything i needed got ready for powder...



and then there was the wait of waiting for the powder coater...

so after waiting over three months and having my bike apart, everything was done and powdered. today the schedule permitted for elduner, dunepred, and I to get together and start assembling her. it was also the first day that i got to see how the powder color came out and boy was i excited!!!






we were able to work on it for a good couple hours and we got our selves a roller today... i am completely amazed of how well the colors came together. all day i tried to think of a name for her and finally i came up with the name "Gold Member" which also happens to be one of my favorite movies!

Looks awesome dude, nice color choices. I can't wait to see what it's gonna look like. My laptop looks like yours all stickered out lol.

the weight loss will be nice for sure... motor will be an all bore 500 dasa motor, cam, pipe, carb, piston, the only thing missing will be the dasa ignition.

Shaving the frame was something that was my pleasure in doing with Rick. Along with building the sub... I told you I could do it if I wanted too... lol....

BTW... I love how our Custom 4'x2' grill made the pic.... not 100% finished either... but its workable...

Looks great, Bad. You must be going crazy since you haven't ridden in a while and you have a fun project like this in the works. BTW, did you know that the 2009 limited edition LTR's have a gold frame? Have you seen them by chance - not sure if they are a similar color gold or not - but they look good with the black plastic and accents.

Dam Aldo, nice to see you going all out with the drag bike. Looks sick bro, and I like the color combo. That bike has really evolved over the last year or so.

i went with a tusk clutch kit. figured i'd be alright since im running a lockout. i also replace 3 of the trx250r HD springs with the tusk ones to soften up the pull a bit. the HD springs work good but are stiffer than a motha!!!

today i am happy to say that with a great amount of help from Elduner/YQR and Dunepred my bike, "Gold Member" is done... i can't even explain how happy i feel to have my bike back after several months of her being down. She starts real nice unlike before. i hope this build lasts me and that we all get to enjoy it when we are out riding :Rock on Nanner:
