my 05 is do for a bottom end and i was wondering if there was any do-it-yourself'ers out there that have split the case and dove in. is there any special tools needed or any tips i could use. i know i should quit being such a cheap bastard but the nearest bike shop is 2 hrs away and theyre 50 bucks an hr.

Its actually pretty simple!

get yourself a service manual!

A flywheel puller!

A penny to use as a gear holder!

And you will be set! i just tore mine down a couple days ago! Nothing to it!!

I just did mine its easy just keep orgnized I bagged my parts in freezer bags and labled them. omly special tools you will need is A torq. wrench and puller for the flywheel
