so i finally got my locknut assembly off. but the brake rotor hub is siezed onto the axle. i've spent two days heating, beating, prying and everything else i can think of..so later today my neighbor is coming over and we're gonna cut the thing off my axle. so i can then hopefully get the carrier out and change the damn bearings.. so if anyone has a stock rotor hub for sale let me know..i don't need the rotor itself, just the hub it bolts to... thanks..

If you would let it soak in penetrating oil overnight, it would come right off.

yeah i tried using that pb blaster and some other stuff on it, my axle locknut was the same way, sprayed it and messed with it for 2 days.. i've fought with this thing for 2 days too. and haven't gotten anywhere with it. the kid who owned it before me must not have ever had the rear end apart.. i'm getting closer.. hopefully by the end of today or tomorrow i'll have it off

Did you get it done. I am having the exact same problem with my girl's 400ex. It's an 02 and has never been apart. I had hell with the nuts too. A big crescent wrench and a small sledge took care of them though. I have had the hub soaking in wd40 all night and I'm gonna try it again when I get home. It's on there good though. I'm interested to know how yours turns out.

I had to modify a steering wheel puller to get my hub off the first time, any after that has been easy.

How did you come up with a mounting point to pull from on the axle? I could see it hooking up to the hub, but what about the axle??

i finally got it off. my neighbor cut almost all the way through the hub. and the next day i took a 4" grinder and went all the way around the hub right down to the splines on the axle. then a small hammer knocked it off. but when i got the carrier out and knocked the bearings out i noticed it was cracked. so i've got my friend bringing me down another stock carrier. it never ends, not sure if it broke while trying to get the bearings out or when we were beating the piss outta it to get the brake hub off... oh well at least now i knoe everything will be new and fresh, and have grease on it !!

Yeah, I'd rather not go that route.

I heat it with a propane torch then used a steering wheel puller and a 2' "extension" to get force on it and hit it with a deadblow hammer to get it loose. It wasnt alot of fun.
