Kip
Anyone who will be at FSA Oregon on July 10th and 11th, put a post in here saying what class you will be running, and what you will be riding and who your with. Even if your there to watch.

I think the turnout should be good!

Ill be there, probably running the duners, representing RE AZ

MrBullDawg
I scheduled for july 4th weekend then found out after it was too late that it was the w/e afterwards. So the short of it is I won't be there this year.

wolfpack
I'll try and make it out to see you run Kip. Might be kind of tight with moving around that time but I'd like to come. Good luck either way.
dunepred
have you decide what class you are going to run yet?
Kip
Need to talk with John tommorow, but probably the duners/shooters class.

-Kip
jkulysses
I'll be there the whole week. I live about ten minutes from boxcar ;).gif
HeavyHitter
Dang I might have to make a special trip down for this event. Not sure what class I would run if I decided to run. Ill have to do a little research. Is there a duner's class? My build is pretty small in comparison to some. hotcams, port 12:1, full rossier,
hawk-trx
we are planing on making it. not sure who. not sure where to camp/stay. we have friends that live there and more that have a place there.

is there good camping for trailers? what the best place? which do you guys like better dunefest or sandfest?
Kip
Never been to either dunefest or sandfest, but def come for sandfest, so you can race FSA.

It would be cool to meet ya todd!

Dunefest does have a full class for the 450's. Also a single cylinder unlimited class also, hopefully splitt cc's for two unlimited classes!!
Kip
Thanks jadley, ill have to check into that!

If you race duners, you're going to have some stiff competition. I think the top three are making the trip to decide the series winner.
dunepred
theres only two that are racing for the champion ship points ...Dac and Vader....and both run really strong.the standings chart.....below

http://www.fourstrokeassociation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7
Kip
They should be some stiff competition. I dont know how my stockbore/stroke will compare to theres. Do you guys know how big their builds are? Vaders on the LTR built by?? And Dac is on the TRX built by???

Thanks!-Kip
dunepred
it all depends how much horse power you are putting out Kip....like i said if your bike is anywhere near as fast as lostboys then you will be ok....remember these two that might wanna defend the champion ship trophy are 1st place and 2nd........jmo
Kip
How Big CCs is Lostboys bike?

Mine will only be SB/SS. That is my main disadvantage. As far as weight, i should be right there with the rest.

I Hope i can get the light down quick. I have never ran a tree before, that will be my biggest downfall.

Im hoping to see low-mid 60s HP and upper 30s TQ on a local lower dynojet, but we will see what it says. It made 57.5/ 34.5 on pump gas, mild cam, and a rec head.

I like sandfest for actual riding and dunefest for partying and watching idiots destroy stuff lol. I'll be at both but not camping at dunefest this year. Spending a week in a tent sucks lol.

youll be just fine Kip...just dont blink when the lights start there sequence...lol..im not sure how big lostboys bike is...but its fast.

be lucky to hit 61/34.....and theres no such thing as a rec head....you either have a budget head or a very expensive head..jmo
Kip
How do the lights stage? 3 yellows synchronized and then green, or 3 yellows sequenced then green?

I already hit 34 Ftlbs, so im hoping for a little more TQ. If i guess low, my hopes should be high. Im gonna say 60/36 and i would be happy.

I will be adding, the more expensive head, which should be worth more power! A 208/921, which should be worth more power, and more comp, which should be worth some TQ!!!

So, will lostboys bike take craig and dac?

-Kip

dunepred
lost boys bike won the last race in dumont, but was DQed for being under weight. on a good day all 3 bikes are very high contenders for each other.

1st,2nd,3rd PLACE doesnt matter what matters is having fun...and the lights having fun with you..lol

the lights start with the STAGE......then yellow,yellow,yellow.......GREEN.GOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....HAHA
Kip
Haha, alright sweet! I have no plans of winning, that would be a bonus. I just want to make myself and my build look as good as possible for being the underdog. I would love to put up a good fight on some of those builds.

I do all the work myself, and am a young rookie, So i dont wanna look like a complete noobie.

Im really looking forward to meeting everyone! Well most.

Rick, you and aldo and gerry and anyone from YQR gonna be there? You all should convoy up here and do some Oregon riding. Our summer weather is like your winter weather.

-Kip
QUIKSHRK
kip,

dont try to leave on the green and expect a good reaction time. depending on your personal reaction time, you may want to leave when the second yellow is going off or the third one coming on thumbsup.gif

Kip watch some of the videos on the fsa site. Will give you an idea how the tree works. It is two sets of yellow stage lights and then go on green. Not a ruuning sequence of lights. All three greens show at once.
As far as lostboys re did his build so you'd have to talk to John. Its a really fast bike. Had me covered at the last race by a good 3 bikes.
I know me and Vader are coming up to finish the race season and see how it unfolds.
quadracer6
There are 2 days (10th & 11th) worth of FSA races at sandfest. The 10th is the last race of the 09 season and the 11th is the first race of the 2010 season. Anyone who makes Oregon will have a head start in the points for next seasons championship.
QUIKSHRK
i hope to be there to check it out and have a good time. however, i hope its not like last year for the sake of those making a long drive. i heard it was pathetic. boxcar is far from a hill. about 3 dunes north of boxcar is a dune called razorback. it would be a much better place to race.

imo
Quadracers
FSA is hoping for a larger turnout as well this year. Any pics of Razorback? Is the hill flat on top or is it just that, a razorback?
471Splatter
I thought the same thing. This hill would be better than Boxcar. Boxcar isn't a hill anymore. But it does change things up from the usual, so maybe Boxcar one day, Razorback the next? Just throwing out ideas.

Here are some pics from a couple years ago of "Razorback."

It seems that in the summer, it is fairly flat on top but the winter months they get to be really bad razorbacks.

Front of Razorback.

This is the only one I can find of the top/backside.

Hope this helps.

im not going to be racing. at 6'3" im never going to ba a "jocky". i will do alot of side hill racing. plus to get my quad down to total duner weight it wont be as fun to dune.

i havent been to a fsa race sence it was called four stroke wars so it will be great to meet all the new racers and see how fast they are now.

i dont think both hills is realistic.
run a race, hand out awards, tear down the lights banners haybails, move to another hill, set it all up again groom that hill and race the next morning???? thats asking alot of promoters. EVERYONE would need to help.
Quadracers
Razorback hill would not work. Can you imagine bikes going over that lip at 70 +. There needs to be shut down area like this on the hill.

471Splatter
I didnt think so. Just thought I'd throw some pics up for ya.
