i've been working on an 03 suzuki 400 its been sitting for over 2 years and we've put new valves in it, and new rings. i've inspected everything i can think of and everything is in great shape. problem is when you start it, it over heats quick pipe turns blood red. I just need idea's of why its doing this.

yor most likely have to either clean the carb very throughly or bump up the PJ to the next bigger size

Your carb needs to be cleaned out, the air/fuel circuit is leaning out the low idle side.
