Bought my Rincon new in 03 and it has a ton of miles and a ton of hours on it so I thought I would freshen it up a bit with a new cam and piston

Piston is a JE 12.5:1 to replace the stock 9.2:1. I got the piston put in last night and if looks equal performance, this thing will be fast LOL!

I originally purchased a HotCams Mudbuster cam, but I started getting concerned that it would be more of a torquey cam and not do much in the higher rpms, so instead I got a Web-Cam 773-774 grind for it. I ordered it yesterday and had them overnight it so that I could still go riding this weekend (the things we do just to go riding LOL).

I can't wait to get this thing buttoned up and see how much power improvement there is! Hopefully I can stay neck and neck in a drag race with my buddies Prairie 700! If not, I''l just race him with the 450 LOL!

Here's a couple pics of the piston. I will try to snap a couple of the cam install too.

I know it's not a 450, but I thought it would be cool to share a build-up of something different.

with the web cam for the rincon, do they reccomend hardwelded rockers? did you do it?

if they say yes and you say no, next time you go in there you should let me know how its lasted without the hardwelded rockers.

that much more compression with tha cam should make it alot quicker, what cc's is the rincon?

Hardewelded rocker arms are not required or even "recommended". I don't know if it's because it's an OHV engine versus a OHC, or if it's just because it's not a real aggressive cam, either way I'm glad I didn't have to buy them LOL!

The Rincon is 649 cc's, but it's not a real powerhouse, so I hope this cam and piston make a big improvement.

Even though the Rincon is not super fast it's handling is amazing!

those rincons are pretty nice though man.. i have a friend with a 650 rincon built for mud bogging it wont touch like 50mph but will go through some serious mud and my brother in law has a 700 rincon and it has SUCH and an amazingly comfortable ride... i think if i was gonna get a 4x4 it would pry be a new rincon..

Well my cam showed up this afternoon so I was able to stuff it into the Rincon tonight. I didn't get started until about 9, and then I had to clean gasket surfaces and clean the combustion chamber etc, etc, etc. . . . .anyways 2 1/2 hrs later I finally got her going.

Oh, and BTW, I'm retarded and forgot to take pics. . . . I don't know if anyone would care to see them anyways. . . .so probably not a big deal. . . . .

It's late so I didn't take her out for a ride, but let me say, THROTTLE RESPONSE!

This thing snaps off idle to redline incredibly fast, whereas before you had sit and wait for it. Now its throttle and BOOM, instant revs!

I can't wait to ride this thing! I'll take it ditch riding, or through some trails tomorrow to break in the cam and report back on how she runs.

yea keep us posted im curious as to how its gonna run...
