Hey guys i got a honda 250r and its bored .0100 over and i was wondering how much i can shave my head. a kid in my class is telling me a 1/16 of an inch and another kid is telling me thats to much. so i thought i would ask the people that would most likely know best.

or should i ask,

i wouldnt bother.. just use a cr250 head gasket.

the CR250 head gasket is far thinner than the TRX head gasket. It is a huge difference... and it saves having to do the machining

make sure you tell them you need a gasket for a 89cr250. its a oldtrick to bump up your comp. if your bike pings after you do this,step up more main jet one or two sizes.

I went to the local parts store and took a look at the 89 cr250 head gasket and wow that thing is so thin,

If i ran that wouldnt i have to run race gas only? and what other problems would i have to face?

a guy said to just shave .020 off my head and that will be just fine?

stock head with that gasket will be fine on pump gas, and is about the limit.


DO IT, dont think about it....

we used to run the cr250 gasket on stock heads all the time... pump gas works perfect....

youll notice nice gains with just that change.
