Well, to start, I am not very mechanical. I am more of a computer geek that likes to have hobbies. I started off with cars. I had a 96 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST, modded that until I got tired of it. Moved to a stock 02 Subaru WRX. I did custom paint job, SYM's body kit, aero speed exhaust blitz blow-off, and rims. Every time I drove I would get approached to be in car clubs. I wasn't into the whole car club thing.

I met my fiancée a little over a year ago and her family is pretty big into quads and sleds. I went on one trip with them to the Oregon dunes and was hooked. Now, they didn't have any Honda's. They had two LTR450s, a YFZ450, and a Raptor 350. The LTR was like a Cadillac on the dunes. I was shocked.

Well, when I got back, I jumped on craigslist and was looking at getting a 450. I almost got suckered into getting a ds650. Glad I didn't go that route. Anyways. I hit up a friend that had a 4x4 Honda and the TRX450ER. I knew he never road it. He worked at the Honda dealership where he purchased it and had the extended warranty purchased. He told me he would do payments, so we agreed on $4,600.

Now to the pics of what I have done.

First is what it looked like when I got it.

Raistlin 12
bumper is going to look sweet on there. make sure u post up the pic.

Ok, I am back.

The first thing I did was put graphics on it. I got the Monster energy graphics from Factory FX.

The next three mods I did all together at the same time.

Some cheap ebay spacers. $39.00 for spacers all the way around. A Duncan front bumper $40 on craigslist. And Pro Armor nerf bars $40 on craigslist.

lilred
let's see some more.

My Favorite mod came next. And that was the the sparks exhaust that I got from r450er here on the ORG. And I got a SFRacing Clutch cover from someone here on the org as well.

The last thing I did was the seat. It was done here locally.

Right now the R is in the shop getting tuned up. I am getting an airfilter put on and my handgaurds installed. Recently I was ridding and hit a tree and snapped the front bumper off. I purchased a Pro Armor Bull Horn bumper from Raistlin 12 and I will put that on soon.

I also have hologen lights put in. I got them from sandshots here on the org.

I got a HCII and a pro armor grab bar from -[sphEre]- but he got a bad rap all of a sudden. I don't know if it got resolved but I didn't have a problem with him. Good transaction and a hell of a deal.

No...lol

I went to start it and it backfired and spun the starter clutch. I am getting a new one put on.

I bought the air filter and handgaurds months ago and have not got around to installing them. I work 12 hours a day. So why not just send it to someone who does it for a living. I don't care that I am paying money for someone to do something that I could do easily. I look at it as supporting my community in a way. EMS is a great shop and I know the owner so I will have him pretty much do anything to my quad. Even if that means an oil change. lol

480 Bandit

MotoX_Rider
pretty sweet, what else do you plan on doing to it in the future?
HeavyHitter
looks awesome. I did a seat like that last summer, but I used vinyl here at our shop and it was too slickery. After a while it was ok, but still to slick for me to ride and get any sort of seat to arse traction. Didnt like the feeling of slipping around. What material did you use. I traded mine for an all black gripper.
want2bfast
so where is the 540?

The seat would be slippery if i wasn't wearing riding pants. I dont mind too much.

Nice! well thats good to know.

I just stopped by the shop and she is coming along. They were trying to get the bolt out where I snapped the front bumper off. Easy-out! lol

just a thought, but if those graphics are directly on your tank, they will come off because of the fumes. But if you have a tank shroud, then u r good to go.

The graphics on the tank are built for gas tanks i think. They are mesh pattern
