It's most likely the state of Oklahoma that's trying to ban young riders, and not Little Sahara. I'd recommend contacting your state officials and telling them what you think about their proposed ideas.

The age mite be changd to 18 or older. If this goes into affect it will be in November. I am 14 myself and enjoy riding there. If this law passes all state parks in Oklahoma will have 18 or older law.

do you have a link or site about this ?

where is this info comming from ?

I have been taking my 4 kids to ls oklahoma for 9-10 years now, the youngest is now 14 and she is a very smart rider
she knows what her quad (400ex) can do and what she can do on it, not to stop in blind spots, not to use rear brakes when going down dune backwards, if meeting others in trails to stay right etc.

I am 42 and have crashed more than anyone else in my family (im not bragging)
to say my teenagers are not qualified to ride the dunes due to their age is just stupid

I remember going down when it was WILD, everyone would drink themselves stupid then go night ride till 3AM

its been more family oriented the last 5 years but with the "no doubles" and now maybe an age restriction
the place wont be able to be on most family vacation plans

I would bet that most bad crashes are males 18-30 yrs old

The info is coming from Little Sahara everyone there says that they are trying to pass it. I am 14 to and I kno my limits on my 450r. My friends and I are very ticked. But my dad who is 58 said they tried to do that about 12 years ago. Didnt pass so hoping for best. If it does pass it will pass in November. So it will give you sometime to ride. I am finding out more and more. I will find out as much as i can. I am not just starting a rumor either I am telling the truth.

No law now. No riding doubles is all.
dunner250
Hopefully it doesn't pass there. If it does, it will start happening other states to.
jimmy450r
im going down end of this month (weekend of 5/29)

last time down I signed a petition NOT to charge for atv's to use trail to town
I have only been to town on it once and prob. wont do it again (very boring)

but I dont want others to have to pay or buisiness to lose out because of it
Themotocrosskid-#9
No law passing yet just no riding doubles is all. Im glad.

Every one who lives in Oklahoma should be sure to write their local rep and the Governor.

Also include that you feel that ATVs should be able to become street legal with the proper road gear and insurance.

This is mostly the influence of north eastern inteligencia that is hostile towards anything it doesn't understand or sees no value in. To most coastal elites, ATV riding is the realm of uneducated red necks and they are simply trying to protect the unwashed ignorant masses from themselves with these laws. You can assume that the majority of the political elite, even in Oklahoma, are well out of touch with how the average person feels about a great many things. There is also a heavy dose of litigation avoidance in issue such as this as well.

If you really value the ideals of the founding fathers, vote Libertarian, the two major parties are only interested in oppressing the people in one way or another.
