I made the decision to race my FIRST race ever this weekend at Loretta's...... gotta start somewhere! I am really excited...... I know i need to order a kill switch and my buddies telling me to get a swingarm skid plate but i dont know...... Who all from here will be there?
If any one has any info about the race, pictures/info of how the track will be setup that would be great. My buddy told me the mx track is gonna be incorporated into the harescarmble track but the jumps will be rounded off...... almost gave me a stiffie w00t.gif

I'll be there. Plan on losing your back brakes mid-race, if you don't have a skidplate. This place can get extremely rocky. The MX section is nothing to get excited over. They do it the same every year...it's just the big tabletop, and the two big doubles before the tabletop. And if it rains at all (which I believe it's supposed to the day of the race), you won't be able to get enough speed to clear any of them because of the mud. The track is fast, 2nd or 3rd wide open almost everywhere.

Go out and have fun. This is a great XC track. I wish we were going this year. Planning on going next year. This track is rocky and can get some good acceleration/braking bumps.

I've heard rumors that some manufacturers may be testing the waters on the renting quad thing, but haven't heard anything specific about it. I wouldn't race with 18's. They will be flat within the first couple miles being only 4 ply. Last year, I had three flats with 20" 6 ply tires.

I will be there and SCRO has pretty much said it all so far ... nothing really special, just up and hill, down a hill, over a rock, and through a water hole ... LOL

It is a really fun time reguardless ... Just go out to have fun ...

hmmm u make it sound boring..... lol. so i just talk to the company that rents out quads...... they have a 525 ktm 2008 that i can rent and race for 250 that includes gas and steering stabilizer handgaurds and couple other things...... the only catch is that i have to put a deposit of 500 down...... i am only worried about blowing the motor..... i know i can trust myself not to wreck its just that i dont trust the motor since it is a ktm. what do yall think?

If your gonna spend $250 on renting a quad because you have 18 inch tires, why not just spend $160 and get some new 20inch tires. I wouldn't want to race on a bike I never rode before, I know the concept is the same. I would want to feel it out a bit first.

Either way, good luck to everyone at the race. I really wish I could do this one. I will have my quad fixed for the next OMA race in Millerstown, Ky on May 9th. Hopefully I will see you guys there.
