I have a 1998 Yamaha warrior, and i went down the road, got gas (93 octane) and came back.. shut it off for 10 mins, got back on it, and started it.. Idled fine, but when i gave it fuel it would die. I have taken out the carburater cleaned everything out. Still having the same problem and i have no idea what the problem is.. any help would be appreciated.. Thanks

And when i try and give it fuel, it wants to back fire black smoke sometimes.. i know this isnt a good sign, i just want to diagnose the problem.. I was thinking it was the carburator.. But now i have no idea..

The only reason i dont think its that is because about 20 mins earlier i rode my 450 down to the gas station and used the exact same pump.. I called a guy earlier this evening and he said it was most like the boot between the carb and the head.. as of right now i havent seen any large cracks or holes but ill be getting a better look at it tommarow..

always remember if you have a pretty good grasp that its not air/fuel, then its either electrical or mechanical.

Have you disabled the switch on your parking break lever? It has been a couple years since I did this but it fixed mine. Similar symptoms.

Yea it was the stinking parking brake sensor

my story: ha ha exact same thing on my 2001 warrior. I bought mine for 1000 b/c the previous owner couldnt fix it. I zip tied the thing together and it ran perfect. Sold it for 1700 and put it all into the R.
