Went to silver lake yesterday. Weather was great for the begining of April. My quad ran great, only issue I had was a bolt came loose on my fender.

There were a lot good running 4 strokes out there. Mine was around the middle of the pack. I had some very good races. The fastest of the day was jfyfz with his Venom 501 build, even without spraying he was out front.

I didnt get any pics or vids. Im sure some will show up on another site. When some show up Ill post them here.

As always, had a blast hanging out with witti and his brother, and the whole gang. Had alot of fun racing everyone, It was good seeing Nick and Steph again also!!!

i was there. and got smoked by a white banshee with green frame and white yfz with a green frame. after that i was done dragging

don't stop,,,,,,just keep going. when the big boys come out just make them line up farther back.

Jamie (jfyfz) has the white yfz with the green frame.

I also had a great time talking with everyone.

i wish i would have known that. i would have said hi. i got roosted by him and i stopped. he has one fast bike

ya, jamie's was the fastest out there off the bottle. 4 stroke wise. the competition has gotten closer with a bunch of us.

Jamie might have gave a couple of the banshees a good run with the nitrous on. They left before he turned thried running on nitrous.

Yeah, we saw it later in the day when the tow truck came and pulled it out.

there was so many people gathered around.

overall first dune trip was amazing. i will be back very soon

next time you come up there,,,, make sure to stop by and ask peeps if they belong to any of the forums. You would be surprised how many people do. plus, that way you get to "join a bigger crowd' of quad people. It makes it much more fun that way.

i wish i would have. holeshot 13 parked one trailer away from us and my friend knew someone he was with.

Sorry about blasting ya, definitly should have stoped and said HI, Almost everyone on the north side of the track knew each other from the forums. Yep there was only one banshee I couldnt get off the bottle, and didnt get a chance, when I finally turned it on.

its all good. i really wish i would have.

i need to get some paddles before the next trip. 18in mx tires dont do so hot in the sand

Plan to change a few things on my quad and wait for the weather to warm up a little before I go again.

i am with you on the heat but for opening weekend it was nice.

we are going next saturday. It's supposed to be in the 50's and no wind/rain. So hopefully there will be some racin goin on.

i hope the snow they are calling for will be gone by then

ya it will, or we are not goin. the extended forecast is too warm for it to stick too long.

I was really unhappy with the stage 3 cam at first. But after a little tuning I liked it more and more. I had a really fun weekend and I was happy with how mine ran. I might put on the lowering links I bought though...I ended up strapping the front after not being able to keep the front end down even with nearly leaning over the handle bars when launching.

Hope you dont mind morse. You took a lot of good pics/vids. I picked out most of them that had Venom builds.

As far as my changes, so far I plan on sprockets and a shorter rear shock.

were you guys parked right by the fence near the gate?

I need to buy a valve cover gasket tomorrow too. I was less pissed off the next day after I got to run it ...It sucks that I made one lap around the dunes and my quad had to sit the rest of the day while we tried to find a bolt.

Yep, until I lost my brakes, at the end of the day, that was a fun ride, and I had the nos on!!! Thanks for all your help Eric!!!!

How did you loose your brakes?

P.S. in one of those videos there was a truck/ suv crossing the drag strip after you all went past.... is that common there too as that happens alot out at our sand dune drag strip... and in so I don't want to ditch my front brakes

Yes, it is common. Thats why I think people are crazy for removing their front brakes. Most of the quads in these pics have them removed.

I put on a yz master cylinder, I dont know if I just didnt get all the air out. Or if the cylinder went bad?? I havent had a chance to look at it yet!!


Gotta live on the edge witti, yes it is common. Most people know were the strips are, but when the newbies showup, gotta be careful. I only had one close call last yr, had about 4 jeeps cut across the end as we were coming down the strip, I had the brakes locked up, and wasnt slowing down. I was screaming as loud as I could and the lady finally heard me, and stop just in time, I missed her by about 2 ft. But hey I still won the race!!!!
