2007 250ex bone stock. Ran great for 2 years. Now idle's to low and shuts off......or if I turn up the idle it's OK for a little while (5 minutes or less) and then IDLE's real high. Also it is smoking a bit. Kinda grey / white color. Whats up ????? The ouad gets ridden at Glamis every month....except June to Sep.
I do all the oil changes & clean the aig cleaner every trip. What am I over looking? Thanks,Robert.

migt be a jetting problem i had the same issue with my 91 250x (i know a bit diffrent haha)but it was the pilot jet id say try pullin the carb and clean it somthing might be cloging up a jet..or it might need a valve adjustment. but im leanin toward jetting.

clean the carb, my 05 also did this

I didnt find anything but after I removed the carb and sprayed carb cleaner through all the jets it ran great

we got 03 and 04 250ex's down in mexico that stay there year long, and seems like everytime we go down there we have to pull the carbs and run a bristle from a wire brush through the jets.

they are my uncles and he used to drain the fuel each time, but one time still had a problem when he went back so now he only puts some stabil in and leaves the carbs full of gas. and it happens EVERY time now, so if gas sat in there for a while Im betting thats the problem.

WELL.................... I cleaned out the carb " I believe" 100% and still the same problem. Also it is smoking a fair amount. Grayish - whitehist.....sorry I did not remember that earlier......Any Idea's ???? Thanks,Robert.

checked valves and compression lately ?

how fresh is the fuel ?

Im still leaning towards carb problem

1) bone stock
2) Will check next.....the compression
3) Fuel is fresh...and quad is ridin 3-4 days a month....one 3-4 day weekend
4) I "believe" I cleaned the card 100% ,yesterday.
5) I will check the compression in the next on wednesday and let you know what it is. Gotta attend a meeting tuesday night.
