I did the search, but came up empty. What im looking for is graphs of the two(05 and 06). Im the area of buying, and im undecided on which i want. But if their power is similar i think im gonna get the 05. Thanks

4hp difference. 06 has more.

06 has more but it's a mute point once you start adding a couple goodies here or there. get the 05, best setup for a bike to grow on.

if you're staying stock or no more than HRC kit, I would go with the 06+

if you want to start modding( if you keep surfing the org you will) then I would go with the 05..... They're all kicker models witch is more reliable, they turn sharper in tight trails and they have better tranny's.

I have the 05 spindles I'm going to swap, I just got a kicker conversion so it will start reliably anytime everywhere, but I can't really do anything about the tranny unless I open my casses and send my gears to have them modded( and even then the 05 gears might still be stronger)

I love my 06, but if I had an 05 and 06 and had to get rid of one........ I think I'd keep the 05.

Thanks, im planning on starting with hrc kit, and pipe, filter etc, then do suspension(getting into gncc) but i will modify more and more as i get the cash and get used to the bike. So 05 sounds like the bike for me.

X 2

I have an 06 and in stock form I got my a$$ handed to me by several 05's
04 - 05 have smaller bore longer stroke = torque
06 - 08 have bigger bore shorter stroke = fast rev

Biggest advantage to the 06 is the green wire mod

How similar are they speed/power wise with the addition of hrc kit, and pipe? Is it still the same as stock with the 06 pulling the 05? And how bad are the tranny's on the 06's, because if they are bad and im pretty much guaranteed to have problems then i think ill steer clear from them.

I thought the 06 has better trannys that it's a closer gear ratio. Great for trails and mx!!

The 06 and up also has higher compression

Mr. Torque
The best I could do for you is an....

05
HC2, worked stock silencer, jetted, with open air box

Vs.

07
HRC cam, stock header, Motoworks slip on, green wire, jetted, open air box.

Both on the same dyno. If you wanna see them Ill post them.
Mr. Torque
Here......Ill post em anyways. The problem you are going to run into is the fact that nobody wants to dyno a stocker, they only go after they have a mod or two to justify the money they spent.

Heres the 07...

Heres the 05....

Same dyno, same conditions, same tires. I cant find the other dyno sheet for the 05, but we picked up another 1.2 HP by dropping down on the main jet 2 sizes from a 175 DJ jet to a 165 DJ. I also found out that tuning with DJ jets suck. If you do any jetting...stick with the factory stuff.

Wow is that the stingiest Dyno in the world lol

Mustang Dynos are, when calibrated as they should be. The give TRUE rear wheel HP. But they cannot be beat for tuning ability.
