posted this in the Venom section too.

Traded out some work for dyno time and this is the result. All runs were same day 75deg in the dyno room, ITP Holeshot tires, 91 octane Union 76 pump gas. First run was after a 10 minute warm up on the dyno. The setup is as follows

Stock bottom 05
Venom 480 12.25 pump gas piston
Venom ported head w/ + 1 exh valves
Venom full exhaust w/ spark arrestor out (for a/f probe install)
Hot Cams Stg 3
Stock CDI
Stock carb w/ 175 main to start and ending with a 155 and a dynojet needle on the 3rd clip
Stock intake and air box with a k&n, outerwear and lid removed.

Before this the bike ran good I felt, some driveability quirks like the occasional stumble or hesitation, but nothing major. No smoke, started on the 1st kick and ran real hard all the time. Just spent a little while riding and man what a difference, not big differences in the before and after #'s, but the bike rips hard now. Any rpm, any gear just wants to flip the bike over. I'm on the tank in 1-3rd trying to keep it upright. I was kinda hoping for 50+ simply because that seems to be the standard for 480 combo's, but all in all I'm happy. A/F is still a little robust, but it gets hot out here and I ride this mutha like I stole it from the trailer, all day and back again, so I'd rather it be a little fat and run cool. Guess I'll start aving up for some intake and carb changes and see what that does for the #'s and the rideability.

runs are in SAE,.... convert to STD and chances are you tagged your 50hp goal for your 480 Venom build.

Enjoy your build.

thats twice I've heard the sae/std thing. whats the difference? a conversion in the dyno itself? I'll call the shop and see if he can send me the other readout.

i dont know why on the sae and standard. but all guys go by standard. you definately have a 50hp bike. you probably lost a few hp due to not using slicks on the rollers as well.

my guess is you have a 52 to 54hp bike there.

nice runs. nice build

Put an FCI intake or at least a Dasa to get more air into the carb. It seems like your jet main jet is small and you are still on the rich side. See how the power falls off way before 9850rpms, that looks like it's not getting enough air. Later Clint

YOU Mention Dynojet needle...if your using dynojet mains you might want to put a DJ before teh number so people do not confuse with regular keihn numbers...i personally dont like the dynojet jetting stuff myself...and i do believe it is possible your needle if not set correctly could be screwing with your jetting across the board...like i said in other thread that i beleive it is much better to jet correctly then overcompensate rich..because the hotter the air gets teh even further rich you will go and could result in lubricating issues
