Ok so I have been posting this somewhere else and forgot that I never posted it here! I know what an ass so...since I am into the build already I will update from the very begining!!!

Here the story goes! I had been into atv/atc since I was 11, I started off with a 1985 Honda ATC200x, then at 13 had got an brand new 2000 Yamaha Blaster, and then at 15 I had gotten a 2002 Yamaha Banshee, in 2004 I had done a complete tear down and MX build on it from front to back! at the end of that riding season I had decided to part out the banshee and buy a 4 stroke...well that never ended up happening and I got out of the ATV game and got into cars...now at age 22 I have decided/pushed into getting back into ATVs again thanks to mostly my buddy Chris/Blizzard887. He had seen an add for a 2004/2005 complete TRX450R for sale on this site for $2200 from Stracka, I contemplated it for a cpl days and then decided to go for it and purchase the quad as a project. So long story short one quick trip to PA and $2000 later I am back in the game again and the project begins.........

So the first order of business was to get the engine out to the shop to have it completely looked over. The engine had an HRC Cam and a Hotrods crank. The piston ended up being shot along with all the valves and seets. So the entire top end was freshened up, Shaved the head, valve seats, all 4 valves. So i got that back and it was time to send the frame out!

OCO5450R
So the frame was sent out to Pappy at BKPerformance along with the valve cover, clutch cover, and the engine mounts. While I was waiting for those to come back I purchased a set of ARS-FX XC LT A-arms with Axis tripple rate dual adjust LT shocks revalved for my by Jet-Motorsports! and I got the pc stuff and the front end at the same time so I took some teaser pics and decided to send the a-arms out for some fresh powder!

OCO5450R
rebuilt the bearing carrier and dropped the engine in the frame after cleaning it up for a while

OCO5450R
Next time we worked on it 3/7/09 we got the rest of the engine mounts on and mounted. The stock rear shock on! I know stock rear shock but I didn't think I would be able to get a rear shocks so its on there!. got the clutch cover and valve cover on with their new gaskets and hardware and I replace the right and left side cases covers with the new S.S. hardware! also got the radiator in and the oil cooler!

OCO5450R
on 3/13/09 I received my All balls steering stem bearing kit, Traxx performance sprocket guard, complete stainless bolt kit, and GT Thunder rotor guard. I also received my parts order from Rocky Mountain I got my front and rear steel sprockets and a x-ring gold 520 chain along with a smaller 13 tooth sprocket for tighter areas along with a billet gas cap with billet breather just cuz lol.

On 3/15/09 we got the carb on, steering stem bearing in,rear master cylinder on and found out I need a rubber dust cap on the brake pedal because there is side to side slop!, got the coil on and the rectifier on. I also picked up a plus 2 anti-vibe stem from burguard cycle along with my stainless brake lines.I had to get 04-05 hubs to work with the 04-05 spindles that came with the ARS-FX setup since the front end on my 05 was from an 06 so they don't work!

OCO5450R
3/18/09 my friend finally posted the pics of how it basically sits now. The passed few times we have been working on my buddies Can-am for the upcoming ama hairscramble race in Georgia so my bike has been put on hold for a bit. The last time we worked on my was saturday 3/21/09 i just reinstalled the sleeves in the a-arms and bolted them up to the frame along with the shocks, But i found out the lower shock bolts were too short for the a-arms so I gotta pick those up from Fastenal before I work on it next!

OCO5450R
So as soon as again my friend finally gets me the latest pics from 3/21/09 I will get them posted up!! I forgot to mention I ended up purchasing a custom axis rear dual rate comp adjust shock along with ims roll pegs and healguard and an IMS front bumper. The rear shock is on its way as of today to Jet-Motorsports for a revalve! and also a Dynatek programmable ignition, I also picked up a set of ATV-Fourplay Soft bars and discovered burgard forgot to send me the bushing for the steering stem so there was too much slop in the mount! so I am waiting for that to come in as well. So I am sure in updating everyone I messed up or left some things out so here is a complete mod list of stuff I have now.

BK Performance Gloss Black PC'd Frame,Burgard Front and Rear S.S. Brake Lines,ARS FX LT XC A-arms,Custom Axis LT Tripple-Rate Compression and Rebound Adjustable and Custom Axis rear dual rate comp adjust shock set up by Nick at Jet-Motorsports,HRC Cam,LRD Pro 4 Race Full Exhaust,07 White Plastic,SF Racing Hood,S.S. Bolt Kit,GTT Rotor skid,Traxx Performance sprocket guard,Rox Powermadd handguards,Primary drive Gold x ring chain and steel sprocket kit,Pro armor kill switch,Burgard +2 anti-vibe stem,IMS Roll design pegs,IMS Roll Design heal guards,IMS roll design front bumper,Dynatek programmable ignition!

Here are the updated pictures. I did a little bit more yesterday got the bolts I needed for the lower shock mounts and tightened up the entire front end and also transfered my rotors over to the 04/05 hubs and bolts them on along with the tie-rods. I am still waiting for my pegs, bumper, and rear shock to come back from Jet-Motorsports oh and the bushing from Burgard. Oh and I forgot to mention I picked up some levers from ASV! brake and clutch shorty Pro levers with hot start lever!. I am almost regreting getting the shorty levers since my hand are big and I tend to grab the brake but we will see!

Probably no new pics untill the begining of next week or so since my buddy won't be around. Thanks-JOEYD

OCO5450R
I will have a littlle more update tom. My asv lever came in along with my axle so I can get the rear end on, My rear shock will be here on monday. So tom. I will get the axle in and the rear brake caliper, rotor, braided line, sprocket and sprocket guard on. I will get my front braided lines on as well and my throttle on as well. Unfortunatly I had to order the hot start peice that screws into the carb so that probably won't be here until next weekend!!! along with all the collars that hold the plastic on. So I will have every other thing on I hope by tom. Unfortunatly for rims and tires I won't have anything great as funds are low! so I will be using my buddies stock Can am ds450x reinforced rims and the ITP GNCC tires my quad came with. I was working on a deal for some dwt beadlocks but they didn't work out!!! look for more pics tom. thanks-JOEYD

LETS SEE SOME MORE PICS!!!!
speeddemon619
Looks good man! A great build! I wouldnt mind seeing some pics of the can am in the backround either lol
OCO5450R
Oh yeah well I can post some pics of it its my buddies bike he had burgard make a set of a-arms and they didn't work out so the suspension is stock until his fox shox come in. The a-arms had clearance issues with the caliper when you turned lock to lock the banjo would hit the lower a-arm and compress the pistons and take away the pressure so if you had to stop quick you would have to pump them to get the feel back. The calipers on the can-am use a floating design so that is why they move with something hits the back of them, if it where any other quad this really wouldn't be a problem. Here are the piccs of the Can-am the bikes has Flexx bars,powermadds,pro-armor kill,DWT beadlocks and ITP GNCC's,HMF full exhaust, pink wire mod,light/start switch removed and yz kill switch wired as starter,WEP stabilizer,Hinson billet clutch basket,Tag plus 1 stem, lid removed and it will have fox shox this upcomming week and maybe Burgard a-arms once they are revised! Oh and he also is now a Can-am factory support rider and is getting a box of goodies that you can't get unless you become a factory rider!

Those are of before we put the stock a-arms back on. Not to many pics of it in its current state maybe I will snap some of those tonight when I am working on mine!-JOEYD
