yes i would love to see a duncan get dynoed. they dont dyno them for some reason and they wont let anyone dyno them.

THAT OR THEY or they want to keep their heads clear from all the cynics...to many people dont know how to read dynoes and sometimes even a pipe that outperforms another on the dyno still gets dubbed the looser maybe because it was a half horse shy of the other...even if the other pipe waffle stomped the winner in all other areas...

i would like to see that comparison as well...but mixxer is a busy man so who knows if he will or wont do the test...myself i would enjoy it...but i think he is focused on sandy and the gang right now...

That is a VERY good point Jones .. that is why Mixx didn't want to show any dynos at first .. too much BS being thrown around. I guess I just kinda threw them in with the other manufacturers that don't seem to give honest results, or they won't because they know they aren't competitive. However .. maybe they just don't like the BS wars ...

wow, i didn't see this thread till now

the reason i wouldn't want to be the one to test other pipes for public info is that you shouldn't trust a manufacturer to test his product against another manufacturers and give out accurate results..

way too much room for bias. i'm all for comparison testing by disassociated parties.. you wouldn't expect Duncan to test another pipe and announce it smoked his own pipe would you??

that's why you shouldn't want me to test it

yeah but wouldn't you like to know mixxer. i sure would that is the pipe i have and i can tell you that i'm not impressed with the fatboy 4. i hope to order a new pipe soon and if you would like to dyno it i would be happy to send it to you.

It isn't worth it for him. The majority of the people will laugh at him and call BS. If Sparks released a dyno saying their pipe blew the PC out of the water .. would that be a reliable source?

I'm sure there are a lot of guys on the site that already have PC's that will do it. If you send them your Duncan I bet they would dyno and ship it back wink.gif

thanks for the offer but i dyno test LOTS of pipes when i'm getting my testing down for each pulse charger model... it is easier to learn from others mistakes than to take the time to make them all yourself :) ... hey i may quote myself on that..

anyways, i always try to get a variety of pipes with the biggest dimensional differences to get the best spread of info to work with... thge same company that makes duncans pipes for them also makes pipes for many other independant shops and the dimensions of the duncan are not unique...

easier than sending it to me would be to check the dynojet owners page on their website and pay the $35 to get you own machine dynoed to get information about your setup that will be more useful to you :)

Like someone mentioned above, it could be because they don't want to get caught up in the hp inflating game. Someone with a Duncan that is willing to send it out make a post in the Engine forum that you want to compare it to a PC ... someone will step up to the plate thumbsup.gif

BTW .. rstaw2_Zs is experience with the dyno and would be an unbiased tester. Maybe he would be willing to do it? But, I'm not trying to put him on the spot, he may or may not want to do it ...

Ya kid I thought of that too but if the pipe was really good why wouldent they want it tested? Even on a bad Dyno the good ones would show how great of a pipe it is. Like I read in a dirt wheels article a while back neither DG or Duncan would allow Dirt wheels to run the pipe shoot out on their pipes... now if thats not gonna be an accurate dyno/test then I really dunno what is...

i had duncan build my bike with every engine option they have for sale and they tuned it w/ the fat boy 4. to make a long story short, i told them them i wanted to get it dynoed and they said not to waste my money on a dyno because they had already tuned it. but i took it to a dyno anyways along w/ a pulsecharger in a box. i told the dyno guy not to dial in the duncan because it was already done, i just wanted to see how much power my bike was putting out before the pulsecharger install, w/ the duncan on the dyno it was putting out 43 hp @ 11 to 12 on the sniffer. after dialing in the pulsecharger it was putting out 46 hp @ 13 to 13.8 on the sniffer.... it was dynoed w/ nobbies

if anybody on the board has access to a dyno and would like to do a pulsecharger vs. duncan test on my bike so we can post it here let me know , i'm willing to travel to northern cal.,nevada or arizona

jerry, you may want to check you jetting. the duncan may or may not be the best but i know it works... last time my friend went to the dunes w/ us i took my spare pipe ''the duncan i replaced w/ the pulsecharger'', we did gps hill runs on his bone stock trx450. bone stock his best run was 32mph in second and would not pull 3rd gear... the best run w/ the duncan, ''lid off, 4th clip, 185 main'' was 40mph

i got the duncan 470 national kit w/ every option they had available, i dont really know if needed all the extra crap but i got it anyways. its pretty fast up the hill, at of all the people i raced at the hill and the drags at gordons ive only been beat by 2 yfz's one i probably could of beat if i was running the same tires as he was, he beat me by 1/2 quad, i was running sand stars he was running scats 8 paddle. the other one beat me by about 8 to 10 bike lengths, that yfz was incredibly fast i dont know what he had done to it but i did notice he had a really short silencer and about1''3/4 head pipe and about a 2''1/4 mid pipe. i dont know what pipe it was but it was bichen that guy was smoking fully built drag banshees

There is a ride report by Beckyandthezoo in the product review section, she got rid of here Duncan for the Pulsecharger. I asked Duncan if they could email me a dyno sheet on there 450r system last year and they said that they don't dyno there pipes they just ride them, I was told that it felt much more powerful than stock and had a huge midrange. lol

Wow! That is a HUGE difference, especially with the PC reading richer the the Duncan! I would love to see those dyno's, do you happen to have them, or are they long gone. I would bet that the curve on the PC betters the Duncan also ...

trx kid you have your facts backwards the duncan was way rich but i left it like that because duncan insisted it was spot on

the duncan would have done a bit better on a leaner jet setting....they would have known that if they actuallly used a dyno as a tool smile.gif so i'm sure it had 1 to 1.5 more available...

on a machine in the mid 40's for hp you can add 3hp for knobbies instead of flattrack tires! strong trx you have there
