well i got an appointment for the 19th of this month at 4pm for a test and tune/ dyno pull.
i really dont care what the numbers are i just want it jetted right. but if the numbers are good ill take it, lol.
so far ive beaten a $3200 baldwin yfz and another built motor in a trx. hes a good dude so i will not say his name, i dont know if hes even on here.
anyhow, my build is
cw+3 cylinder
cp 13.1 piston
early hrc cam
stock carb with hrc needle and air box lid.
oh i just picked up a big core sparks exhaust as well
we will see how she does for my home built quad, with tons of help from everyone here and else where.

ok, im lost and pissed at the same time, lol. i dont know what i got, thats what pisses me off. this was dont on a mustang dyno and all he could come up with are these 2 papers. he said this dyno is ver concertive and about 15% low. i dont think the guy knew what he was doing. he tuned the quad by the CO number.
i run a stock are box and hrc lid as well. i dont know, maybe ill find another place to get it done at. when he told me the hp the first time i said what? stock is in the mid/upped 30's. he then went and checked his files for a 05 hrc quad and it did 28 hp. thats when i started to call ppl and got more pissed, lol.
if you can translate this to something good let me know. by ft lbs i got everyone beat.

also, i couldnt watch. i did hear him click into 4th gear for all the runs. he would get it to about 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 throttle and kick the dyno to a load and held it there. i only heard it 3 or 4 times from the bottom to wot runs. i dont know, kinda pissed.

If his stock reading is 28 h.p. your 41 h.p. translates to 55.48 h.p. That's if I read the 41 h.p. correctly, your pics are hard to read.

i cant make much sense of that either. LOL
am i reading correct??? the tq says 54ft lbs. i know thats not right, just wondered if i am reading it right.
if jasmoore is right, and it would convert to 55hp, that is awesome.
terry, take it where i took mine. extremetec atv. mt. gilead. jeff knows his stuff. you can stand right next to it and watch. he can save your runs to a disk or thumb drive. dynojet as well. thats only a couple hours from you. thats an option.
his dyno seems to be on par with most. he just had it re calibrated by dynojet as well.

Have you ridden it? Does it run better? Do you have any issues with the performace? If not, then you got what you wanted. A dyno tune. It's not always about the numbers.

well i wanted to make sure it was tuned first. it ran good before i took it but didnt know how far i was off on the jetting. well i was a little of on the jetting and havent rode it yet, ill try it out maybe this weekend. i also wanted to see what kind of hp #'s my home built 480 could lay down as icing on the cake.
he said a hrc equiped 450 did 28hp, not a stock 450.

How do you figure I said that?????? stock is 38.. 38/28=1.35. 1.35x41=55.35. do the 8th grade math

now i see the problem, i used the much simpler 6th grade math 41 + 14 = 55 and 28 + 14 = 42

If your winning your races and are happy with it let it go. then.....
You said the head was ported with 31mm ex valves. Do you know if the head was flowed after or during the porting?
deerchooper
Mar 20 2009, 04:33 PM
i had +1 exhaust valves installed and it wasnt flowed at all.
