i dont really know much about these motors in particular.

i have a 04 trx with the hrc kit and i want some more power out of it. im thinking of stroking it and keeping the stock piston (or a lower compression one)....

my thinking is i can get more HP out of it and still keep it relatively reliable, ya know? (vs. putting in a high compression piston and really drastic cam and trying to squeeze everything possible out of the stock motor)

im looking for any and all info, comments, and suggestions....

thanks

prob the most populer is a hot rods 471 and get it balanced

i woudn't stroke it first. get a 480 kit from venom performance for about 500.00

that will be a great start. You could still keep it on pump gas, and be very reliable too.

for reliable power you NEED to port the head. and i've always like esr so you might want to check out their 505 stroker but i'm not sure if it's for 04?

definitely port the head if you haven't yet. As soon as you start going big, stuff wears out faster. Now with that said, I am running a 501 stroker, and have been for 3 yrs now.

Not a problem 1 with it either.

As far as i know the only 500cc 250rs are the sabers..and if built right a 450R could never in its dreams touch that. But it sounds like his isnt too fast.

no the thing is crazy and flat out i dont stand a chance...

but we flat track so the shortness of the course works in my favor

i can get stuff at cost out of parts unlimited so it looks like i might be doin the hot rods 471.....

nice whats it got in it for work to the head does it have big vales camed out stroked what kind of piston because with a 8mm stroker in my bike with other work it only makes 68 69 to the rear a stock cr500 makes 64 if you look up the specs then do some small work to it and makes 70 75 all day no prob its hard to say whats faster 2stroke have the ground speed but the 4stroke come out of the hole like a bear and rev to the moon
