ohhh snap, please tell me you guys didnt go bashing on the beast..

stock zilla was 51 hp at the crank and 44 at the wheels. it is the fastest stock quad ever tested by dirt wheels 88 mph i believe to banshee 83 mph. if they are put in the hands of the right builder they will make 75+ hp be super reliable, and with the powervalve they have tons of lowend and can be excellent daily drivers and trail ride toys, not drag only machines...

i know this is a trx450r site, i have one and thats how I found this place. Until 3 years ago I was a die hard red rider of the TRX250r variety.. until I got a great deal on a beast. I am stunned that there was a zuki section and its too bad I found it. 'cause now I feel the need to set misconceptions straight... LOL have a ridding buddy with a stage 2 700r raptor supposedly in the 60-65 hp range and so long as I dont loop out on the start I pull on him every time... he has about $12-13K in his quad and I have $6k in mine... he does get better mpg though

its probably best to just agree to disagree, if you liked 2 strokes as much as me you probably wouldnt be on this site and would be on the 2 stroke sites..

nice quad, i bet i can speak for most of us that we all started out somewhere......more often than not......on a two stroke. i miss my cr's :(

OP nice quad and I agree with your post. My first quad was an 87 zilla and it was pretty fast imo. If you put some work into the motor they can get stupid fast. I mean stock they are a 500cc 2 stroke. Get a good pipe, reeds, carb, dome and some porting and you have a fast quad.

I'd love to get a old quadzilla and rebuild it. My uncle has one and even being old and beat on that thing is still pretty fast.

I love my lt250. It is deff no zilla but she is a slower sister. She is old and ugly but I could jump on her at any point and she would start on the 2nd or 3rd kick. Last sunday at Spinreal it threw a chain, cracked the case. Drug her back to the trailer. Monday had her took apart. Last night we had her put all back together and started her up. She is a fighter.

To the OP, stock tested a banshee will only run 71-72mph, not 83.

My buddy used to have one with just a pipe and silencer on it, and we clocked it running 60mph in the snow with 22" all tracs in the back throwing a roost 30 feet back the whole time, I was blown away impressed.

i know the zilla's got a nice big two stroke but ive personally yet to see one impress me...maybe its just a colorado thing i guess

sweet arse quad though having such a big motor!
