well most of you guys know that john from jandj is porting two heads to see what horspower gains are from just porting. this bike is my buddies 06 and we are using this dyno now instead of tnt's since it is closer. the only change he has made is a tokyo mods ignition. after seeing the results of the ignition i think i need one!! i dynoed mine on here first to see if the numbers were different since i have not changed anything since dynoing the first time. it made exactly 1 hp less and 1 tq less. so assuming the same for his bike it put him at 44.9 hp and 30.2 tq if he had the stock ignition still on there.

he tried different curves to see where the power was at and it made quite a difference not so much hp but torque. the highest torque reading was 32.37 with hp being 46.88 and the lowest torque was 30.60 with hp being 47.14, which was his best run. this is on curve 7 which he said he is leaving it on. so when he gets his head from john at jandj's it will be the same curve. in my opinion 2.25hp and 2.17tq is good from an ignition over the stock one with the green wire mod. it also carried his torque curve longer than his stock one. i dont think my dyna did that!

so to everyone waiting for the results it should't be that much longer before he gets his head from john and we show some results. im posting his best run graph but i only have this run in mph for some reason, but it peaked hp at 8700 and tq at 6500

maybe it would be fun to guess some numbers on what its going to do!!

Nice info Soyo. I did not get the good results with the Tokyo mods CDI as you did, but that was on the 04/05 model. Maybe the 06 model fairs a bit better than the 04/05 with that ignition box on there. That kinda gain is absolutly worth it when your getting to the end of the line on power. But in the beginning, Id probably put the $400 or what ever it is somewhere else for the power. That 2/2 gain would come more towards the end of my build. None the less that was a good gain. Cant wait to see the ported head swap!

well he wasn't going to buy one but he picked this up for 200 bucks which he couldn't pass up.

cool beans thanks for sharing

it will be nice to visit a dyno closer thank 4 hours

i guess 55/35 if nothing else changes, im optimistic for my guy JJ, 7 horses would be a good peak gain on that build imo

I saw 1.5-2 hp throughout the rpm range with a vortex on my 07 mx bike. It revs out alot better than just with the green wire mod as well i realy like how it runs with the vortex on mine

head will be done next week, and hopefully a dyno graph!

Should be done next week, time is of no concern on this deal. We are wanting to put down the best numbers possible. As soon as it is dynoed with the head I am going to add a 14:1 JE piston and a hot cam stage, I will then dyno it again to show those increases as well.

could someone please PM me the shop name and number to call you use this dyno?

thanks!

John at J and J contacted me today and said he is sending my head back tommorow. I dont know how much is done. I am going to have SOYO put the finishing touches on mine and go through with the dyno. Mine is going to be dynoed changing only the head, with +1 exhast valves. I will post the results next thursday or friday.

well all we know without looking at the head is there has been some work on the intake and the seats have not been changed yet. question.gif so we really dont know how much is done to it without seeing it. so eventually when we get it done we will post some graphs!

i dont know the whole story but atleast he was going to do a free port job. thanks jandj

I started this thread with the advise of a good friend. I plan to finish it and show what kind of horsepower you can gain from a good port job with plus one exhaust valves. After the initial Dyno results are posted I am going to deck the head 20 thousanths, add a 13 5 JE piston and a web cam ( not sure which one yet). Thanks for following this thread, any input would be appreciated.

I would like to apologize to everyone who has been watching this thread. John at J&J hasnt been very descriptive with what he has actually done to this project head and hasnt returned any of my phonecalls to let me know what is done to it so I can get some kind of a completion date to finish the work and dyno it. I will let all of you know when I get the head back and when SOYO gets it done so we can dyno it and show the results. It will hopefully be mid June as I have a National on the 30th of May. Wish me luck I will keep everyone posted , big thanks to SOYO for steppin up to finish this!!

John from Jand J said he was sending my head out today, so it should be here friday. Soyo is going to take this build over and finish it we are doing a port job, 11 angle valve job, +1 exhhaust valves and titanium crf intakes with copper seats. As soon as it is finished I will get it on the dyno and get the numbers up.

Got the head back today and It had not beeb touched by John at J&J. I am going to end this thread and start a new post for Jared at JC racing engines.
