I hate to be the millionth person to ask for jetting help but here goes. I have a 2005 450r, 12-1, 470, venom porting, venom pipe, 05 crf cam. I'm getting ready to swap a crf carb in and am wanting to have a decent baseline first. So what I'm needing to know is what needle would be best for this application, and a good starting point for main, pilot, and leak jets. Also will the stock fuel line fit the crf carb, what about the hotstart cable, throttle cable? Sorry for all the questions, just don't want to start tearing it apart only to have to stop and let it set for a couple weeks while I wait for some $0.50 part. Thanks in advance.

Mike,

Stock throttle cable and hot start will work just fine. As for the fuel line, the crf has a much smaller nipple on it, however you can use the stock trx fuel hose thats bigger, just use a small screw drivin clamp to sqaush it down on there. It will seal and work.

The stock needle height from the crf should be close to what you need. Usually right in the middle somewhere. The jets will also be similair to what you were used to on the trx carb. Probably around the 45 pilot jet, 175-190 main jet. Some jets depend on whats done to the carb, or not done. Like the main jet size rises if the air bleed in the back of the carb hasnt been taped and jetted. For more on that, go pull up one of the many discussions on this forum about that.
