Full Version: can i get rid of my tps on 05 model

my tps keeps getting a dead spot in it causing the maotor to start poppin on the top end

From what I've seen disconnecting the TPS on the carb sends a signal that says "WOT" all the time, and WOT while kicking is what causes the cracked cases... not a good idea IMO, without further research and some validation...

one guy told me to disconnect the two wire scoming from th ethumb throttle side and tie them into each other so that they dont connect under the hood to the brain which is supposed to be what syncronizes the one off of the carb to the thumb throttle does that make sense or sound logical

Yeah that's basically just disconnecting the TPS from what I understand but I wouldn't do it because of the reason I gave in the previous post.
