anybody have any ideas on how to do some easy tricks such as a heelclicker or can can?

do you just have to not think about it and go for it or what?
chaseMX41
You can just take baby steps and work your way up to full extension when learning a new trick.

Clickers are any easy first trick to learn it helps alot to stretch before you ride also.

as far as the can can goes, i started out by just putting my leg over and landing side saddle until i got more comfortable with it.

like everyone said just take baby steps. don't just go for full exstension the first time thats how you get hurt. also make sure the jump is big enough so you have enough time to do the trick. also its best if its a jump your comfortable on so you know you can hit it perfect every time then you can concentrate on what your body is doing not if the quad is level or am i going to make.

little step like said above...watching vids and and riding with a couple guys so you can push each other helps alot also
hondaman01
biggest trick ive done was a no-hander lander, so im by far from good

but best advice like stated above take baby steps, throw a leg off to the side, or a hand then both hands then both feet, then both feet one hand, just work your way up , and only move on to the next step when you feel comfortable doing what youve already done!!
MotoX_Rider
i can do the no hander and no footer....what im lookin to do next is the heelclicker ( not a big trick but pretty big for me )

i just dont understand how you have to position your body
DMAC450ER
for heel clikers just start bringing your feet up little by little and when you start getting your feet over the bars you want to start bringing your body forward i've learned that if you have body/butt over the gas tank its much easier to get the click

Im making about a 5' tall freestyle ramp to start off with, it dosent change shape from spinning or rain or even 4x4s trying to wheelie off it.

On my terebly small table top I am at the point of landing with one hand. and a point back. Just remember that if you point back and run out of time to bring your arm back to keep your wheels streight, I have a tendance to turn to the right if I point back to the left.
MotoX_Rider
you make the ramp yourself?

1.Wear top of the line gear

2. master the basic jump

3.learn how to control the quad mid air. ( side motion, tip front forward, ect.)

4. start with small tricks such as no handers and no footers.

5. DONT GO OVER YOURE SKILL

thumper
You need time in the air, and total control, big jumps with alot of air is the way to go so your not rushing any tricks, start of with no handers, and some heel clickers then go to some nac nacs and start adding some style to your tricks you'll be supermanning before you know it.

Be prepared to get hurt fair warning , i go in a straight line now
MotoX_Rider
im not trying to go crazy, i jus want a lil style to add to the mx races. I guess ya just gotta go for it n dont look back.

have any of you tensed up thinkin' bout the trick too much and crash?
450rSteven
What i learned is that you just go bawls out....no babysteps, babysteps...are for babies...just find a jump that looks big enough, floor it, and do whatever trick you feel suits you. If you crash and get hurt, it ain't ur thing, if you nail it. Ur good....hahaha, jk. Babysteps are the best.

Yeah, Ive gotten so nerveos aboout doing simple stuff I hesitate and start to late... only crashed once of a jump so far though and that was just a little thing on my land
DMAC450ER
no offense but if you think to much and start to and end up crashin your probly not on a big enough jump. but most likely your not good/ comfortable enough in the air to be trying anything. again no offense just my opinion.
xc1993
i like to hit the jump a couple times first then once i get uses to it just to it i wnna get up to the point where i can seat grab but i gotta xc bike so its hard im gunna get 250r soon
crzyatv
Yup, your pretty much right about the jump being too small.....
480 Bandit
can you freestyle with stock shocks? isnt freestyle the most baby thing for a bike if you nail the jump evry time? becaus you have a landing and a metal ramp?
