I have a 2006 450r with electric start. This week I went to start it and as usual the battery died from not being started all summer. I was in a hurry to charge the battery and didn't have any metric wrenches with me so I just pulled the batter cover back and connected to the terminals. When I did this it sparked and the starter started to slowly turn. After a minute wondering what the hell was going on I pulled the cover back further and saw the battery terminals. I think I accidently hooked up the charger to the starter above the battery. I then disconnected the battery and charged it up. When I tried to start the bike nothing happened. I turned the key on and the green light won't come on and it doesn't even attempt to start. I am afraid I fried the computer, or starter. Does anyone else have any experience with this, or am I the only one on the planet dumb enough to make this mistake. I f anyone knows what is going on I'd love to hear a fix. I don't really want to take it the local Honda shop for diagnosis at $105 an hour. Thanks.

It ended up being a blown fuse and a new battery. Running great now. Thanks for the help!
