I am looking at an 05 450 its got stage 2 hotcams 12:1 wiseco I saw the stock piston and it looked mint he just wanted more power , the carb was rejetted and a jardine slipon.Its also got a moose a-arm kit ands a few other small things but I figured 3k is a decent price.My question is how loud is the valve train suppose to be its not real loud but at idle you here it ticking I kinda remember my 400ex sonding like it years ago.Also he had not road it in a few months and took it out last weekend and said intermintantly after it was warm it would stumble while hitting the throttle riding it and if he pulled the choke out and pushed it back in it was fine.You guys ever hear anything like that I dont care if I gotta clean the carb thats no biggie.I have not rode it yet gonna do that tomarrow or thursday I am just trying to get some feedback on this stuff first and other than being a litle dirty it was in good shape no oil leaks or anything like that and fired right up on the first kick.

Especially with the hotcam, I think the motors are kind of noisy, mine even ticks some. Valves may need to be adjusted. That's pretty simple.
It sounds to me like the carb needs to be cleaned. I would check the oil filter for metal shavings, some issues with the cranks in the 05's.
$3000 sounds pretty good, especially if you have the extra cash to freshen everything up, I would do new rings and piston, at least adjust valves maybe replace them if you have the cash. Then enjoy.

some one told me something about being carefull changing the oil on the 04-05 something about there is a way of doing it cause the crank gets starved from oil on first start up is this true.Ya I dont care about adjusting the valves or even a little freshen up over winter just wana get somethng for the next couple months and then clean it up and what not over winter I believe the piston does not have much time on it
