Florence is a lot of fun but It doesn't have quite the diversity that Winchester has. Winchester has a really good variety of everything packed in a smaller area compared to Florence, not to mention I LOOOOOVE the big hills, but everybody has there own preference. To me, it isn't all about how big the area is, (don't get me wrong, I don't like Sand Lake because it's WAY TOO small) But If there's good riding then theres good riding. The only 2 times I've been to Winchester I had more fun dune riding than I ever have anywhere else. I really like all the hillclimbs through the trees that are there. There were some at Coos but I didn't find any that were nearly as good, but maybe I didnt look hard enough. Florence is a big area but doesn't have very many good technical hillclimbs. It's just wide open duning or racing, which can be fun but it's nothing like Coos or Winchester. The flatts are endless and you can't get lost beacuse it's just one big wide open area. The racing is almost always good on the big weekends, it's a cool crowd out there.
I will be at Florence for memorial weekend. Probly camped in driftwood, it's a nice campground.
But on a positive note, bottom line is no matter where you go on the OR coast you've have a good time.....LOL
I think you definately have to mix it up, can't spend all season at one place.......
Jeff, maybe you guys can come down over memorial weekend???
