Hey guys im new to the site im james by the way.. i recently bought a 2008 trx450r limited edition a month ago and put a couple mods on it. I took the spark arrestor out... added a k&n filter and a dynojet jet kit.. jet #128 needle at groove 4.. so it was cuttin off after heavy acceleration and took a couple secs to fire up.. so i popped the gas tank off and removed the spark plug with was full of carbonand had a white texture on the spark end.. im goin to get a new spark plug from the dealer tommorow and change it.. i was wondering if u guys think that i should up the jet some b/c it seems at high rpms it seems like its revving to high to fast when its really not like its a sympton of to much air for a little amount of gas.. you kno kinda of like a miss...anyways if anyone has any input please leave so i can get this thing runnin right.. propper jet size would be nice to kn if anyone has this setup..

thank

Welcome to the site James!

Hard to tell exactly whats going on but I would bet it has something to do with your jetting. Being such a new quad I doubt it would be the spark plug yet. Go under the engine forum and post your year, exact mods, whether or not you are running an airbox lid, alititude and ambient temps, and you'll probably get some good responses. Also you can do a search for jetting and find out a lot of good information from previous posts.

most guys here would tell u to lose the dyno jet kit. Keihen jets are the way to go. I could help you w/ the keihen jets but I know nothing about the dyno jet.

Ive heard nothing good about the dyno jet kit. My .02$ Ive heard the JD Jet kit is the best you can get.

mines having this same exact problem! ive taken the baffle out and modified my airbox lid. i had a 128 jet in on the very bottom needle groove and it was a little lean (studdered and fell on its face when u punched the gas) but then when i went up to a 132 on the 2nd groove it was still too lean... and now i think im on the 4th groove and it doesnt fall on its face when u punch the gas but when your in the high RPMs at a constant speed it studders and pops a little... its pi**in me off

wheres a good site to get JD or Keihen jets?
